Rafael Nadal's sister Maribel shared a welcome message for Felix Auger-Aliassime, who is in Mallorca.

It's not all tennis, but also a bit of fun for Felix Auger-Aliassime, who is currently in Mallorca on his training schedule at the Rafa Nadal Academy. The Canadian tennis superstar explored Mallorca on Sunday and was given a warm welcome by Rafael Nadal's sister, Maribel.

Auger-Aliassime has a close association with the Nadal family, with Rafael Nadal's uncle Toni working as a consultant on Auger-Aliassime's coaching team, and the 22-time Grand Slam champion himself one of the Canadian's top competitors on tour.

Auger-Aliassime chose to return to the Rafa Nadal Academy to train as part of his work with Toni Nadal. As he "enjoyed golden hour" in Mallorca on Sunday away from the tennis court, Maribel, who is also one of the top executives at the academy, welcomed Auger-Aliassime in Mallorca and suggested he explore the town of Porto Cristo.

"Welcome!!! Hope you like Porto Cristo," Maribel Nadal commented on Felix Auger-Aliassime's post.

Earlier, Auger-Aliassime expressed his happiness at returning to the academy, stating that he always feels good to be there.

"Always good to be back," the Canadian captioned his video on Instagram upon reaching the Rafa Nadal Academy.

The world No. 7 had a topsy-turvy 2023 Australian Open, playing three four-setters and a five-setter in his four matches at the Melbourne Major. The Canadian was stunned in the fourth round by Jiri Lehecka after a couple of memorable comebacks earlier in the tournament, including one from two-sets-to-love down against Alex Molcan.

Felix Auger-Aliassime had another bit of association with the Nadal family, having recently trained with Joan, who is one of Toni Nadal's sons. Auger-Aliassime was involved in an intense tennis sparring session with the youngster on the hard-courts at the academy this past weekend. Joan has been playing on the ITF circuit since 2021.

Meanwhile, Auger-Aliassime himself will look to bounce back from a poor start to his season, as he is yet to produce the level of tennis that earned him great success towards the end of the 2022 season, during which he won three back-to-back tournaments in October.

The 22-year-old recently announced that he is set to return to the Laver Cup in September, this time as a defending champion with Team World. Auger-Aliassime played a huge role in Team World's maiden Laver Cup title victory last season, beating Novak Djokovic in the process.
