Roger Federer takes comedian Trevor Noah on a "grand train tour" of Switzerland, release date for YouTube film documenting their journey announced

Tennis legend Roger Federer has announced that he will make a comeback on television in a YouTube show with South African comedian and actor Trevor Noah.

Last season's Laver Cup saw the 20-time Grand Slam winner retire amid emotional scenes while competing alongside Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and Novak Djokovic.

Federer will appear on 'The Ride of a Lifetime,' a YouTube show hosted by award-winning actor Trevor Noah, who has also hosted The Daily Show in America. The new show, titled "The Grand Train Tour of Switzerland," will premiere on March 30.

Trevor Noah shared a poster on Monday (March 27) with the caption:

"A little train adventure with my favourite travel buddy Roger Federer. Stay tuned: Our ride of a lifetime movie hits the screens on March 30th on YouTube."

Roger Federer also later posted the news on Instagram, writing:

"Ready for this, @trevornoah? Coming very soon. @myswitzerland #ineedswitzerland #grandtraintour."

During a press conference at the 2022 Laver Cup, Roger Federer discussed his life after retirement. He said that while he had a great career, it was now time for him to do different things and spend more time with his family.

"No, everything around, you know, the people, the fans, interactions, and sometimes the travels. It's been a great fun time on the tour, but I feel super ready to do different things in my life and take time away and speak to my family and see where we want to go from here," he said.

The 20-time Major winner went on to say that he has made many friends on the tour, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray. He also admitted that while things would be different for him going forward, they would be different in a good way.

"I had a wonderful time on tour. Made so many friends, as well, you know, along the way. Being surrounded by my biggest rivals like Novak and Andy and Rafa, I mean, was truly unique, and I can never thank them enough for being there and staying there and going through it with me," he said.

"Now, moving forward, yeah, it's going to be different but good different. I got a taste of it the last few years, so I'll be fine (smiling)," Federer added.
