Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian dispelled any doubts about the success of his co-produced reality-style show The Offseason FC. The first episode of the docuseries premiered on Friday, October 18, and is streaming exclusively on X.
Ohanian and NJ/NY Gotham FC forward Midge Purce have jointly produced the series that follows the 11 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) players as they live and train together during the offseason in Miami. It features some of the top NWSL players including Former NJ/NY Gotham FC Taylor Smith and Houston Dash's Michelle Alozie and Paige Nielson.
The first episode drew more than 2.5 million views within 24 hours of its release and crossed 10 million within days. Ohanian took to Instagram to share the latest update of the episode touching a whopping 43 million views.
"They said we'll have trouble finding an audience for @offseasonfc," Ohanian wrote using a smirk emoji.
Ohanian is a big supporter of women in sports and co-owns Angel City FC. He also invested in a 2-day event 'Athlos' in New York, solely focused on women track-and-field athletes.
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian welcomed at Virginia Cavaliers women's basketball game; jokes at the team being "stuck" with him
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian was present in the stands to cheer for the Virginia Cavaliers in their season opener against the American Eagles.
Ohanian is an alumnus of the University of Virginia where he double majored in history and business commerce. He shared pictures from his time supporting his former college's team and also visited the locker room to congratulate the Cavaliers on their 104-68 win.
The team, as a gesture, posted pictures of the 41-year-old of his time with the team through the official Wahoos account on Instagram. They captioned it:
"Thank you to @alexisohanian for coming out and supporting the Hoos tonight. It was a huge pleasure having you cheer us on. Can NOT wait to have you on our baselines again! Everyone watches women’s sports."
Ohanian hilariously replied to the post:
"GREAT start to the season. On to Oklahoma! Y'all are stuck with me now... gonna see a lot more of me... Let's GO HOOS," he wrote.
The post also included the UVA acknowledging and applauding their alumnus present in the stands during the event.
