Naomi Osaka recently shared glimpses into her latest fashion collaboration with Nike, the Japanese WTA star's longtime apparel sponsor. Osaka played a pivotal role in the collaboration, as she provided creative inputs to Nike. Their work together has resulted in two jackets and a pair of pants.
In 2019, Osaka signed a deal with Nike worth $10 million annually. Since then, the sportswear giant has come up with a diverse array of eye-catching apparel for the former World No. 1. There also have been occasions when Osaka herself has shared her fashion sensibilities with the brand to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
Recently, content creator Sasha Exeter took to Instagram to reveal that Naomi Osaka had gifted her the apparel from the Japanese's latest collaboration with Nike. Exeter showcased the apparel via her Instagram stories, which Osaka later shared. The first in the series of posts was a picture of a message penned by the four-time Major winner, which read,
"I am so excited to share my next collection with you. The pieces combine sport and luxury with a nod to gold jewelry throughout the trims. I had so much fun working with Nike on this one and can't wait to see how you style it! Please feel free to post on social and tag @ Nike, @ NikeWomen and me @ NaomiOsaka so we can see you shine!"
Other posts focused on Exeter unveiling the apparel, with the most prominent pieces being a maroon jacket featuring intricate mesh-like ornamentation and a white jacket with a gold zipper.
One of the posts featured Osaka reminding her followers about the time she hyped up her new collaboration before its launch. Osaka wrote,
"When I said this next NO x Nike drop was about to be something serious I wasn't lying,"
Osaka recently shared a picture of herself in a practice outfit and said it was "very cool to wear practic clothes."
"Don't think the camera's doing justice" - Naomi Osaka comments on her practice outfit look
Osaka has been slowly and steadily returning to her peak physical shape since returning after her break from tennis which began in 2023. During this time she gave birth to her and rapper Cordae's baby daughter Shai. The Japanese player recently took to Instagram stories to share her "practice outfit vibes".
Osaka said,
"This outfit looks better in person. I don't think the camera's doing justice, but I think I might be back in my on-court outfit. My practice outfit vibes, because I was wearing baggy clothes 'cause I was chubby the past three years but you know I think we are back. But also, I think its very cool to wear practice clothes."
Osaka ended 2024 as the World No. 60, with a 22-18 win-loss record on the WTA Tour.
She was involved in one of the most thrilling women's singles matches of the season, a marathon three-set battle against Iga Swiatek in the second round of the French Open. The Japanese found herself on the cusp of winning at one stage but ultimately lost to the eventual champion.
