Taylor Fritz, who was seeded third and received a bye in the first round, began his campaign in the Round of 16 against Spain's Alejandro Moro Canas, securing a comfortable 6-3, 6-1 victory. The American then defeated sixth seed Jack Draper 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(1) in the quarterfinals.

The semifinal saw Fritz defeat Chile's Cristian Garin 6-3, 6-4, marking the former's first tour-level final on clay. This achievement is particularly noteworthy considering Fritz had lost all six of his previous semifinals on clay. The 26-year-old will now face fourth seed Jan-Lennard Struff in the final, who overcame second seed Holger Rune in the semifinals.

Morgan Riddle took to Instagram to share her reaction to Fritz reaching his maiden clay court final. She posted a clip of Fritz winning his semifinal match against Cristian Garin and wrote:

Taylor Fritz and Morgan Riddle’s relationship began in 2020 after they met on a celebrity dating app. Riddle, a social media influencer, often shares insights into their life together on social media platforms and is often seen cheering him on from the VIP box. The influencer was also featured in the 2023 Netflix series Break Point.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar earlier this year, Riddle expressed that she is not concerned by the 'WAG' (an acronym for Wives and Girlfriends of Athletes) tag.

"If people want to disregard me because I’m “just a WAG,” so be it. It’s a privilege to be underestimated," Riddle said.

The 26-year-old further discussed the negative connotations associated with the acronym.

"No offense taken — the only reason I would take offense to that is because the misogynistic sports culture has made out “WAG” to have negative connotations around it. Anyone in the position of being a partner to a professional athlete knows how difficult and stressful it is to support someone in their position," she added.

Riddle expressed her intention to boost the outreach of tennis through her initiatives.

"I have made and will continue to make a name for myself within the sport by looking at tennis from a feminine perspective and introducing it to a younger audience through fun and educational content," Riddle said.
