"The Queen celebrating the King" - Tennis fans react to Novak Djokovic and wife Jelena celebrating his record 378 weeks as World No. 1

Novak Djokovic created history as he entered his record 378th week as World No.1 on Monday, February 27.

The Serb had earlier broken Roger Federer's record for the most weeks as No. 1 at 310 weeks in March 2021. Last week, he equaled Steffi Graf's record of 377 weeks in the top spot and on Monday, he began his week with a new record to his name.

Djokovic tops the list for most weeks as No. 1. He is followed by Steffi Graf (377 weeks), Martina Navratilova (332 weeks), Serena Williams (319 weeks), and Roger Federer (310 weeks).

The Serb's wife, Jelena Djokovic, took to social media to share a video clip of the couple celebrating his accomplishment. Tennis fans reacted to the post congratulating the 22-time Grand Slam winner and gushing over the couple's love and support for each other.

Fans also commented on the fitting choice of song as the couple swayed together on Tina Turner's "Simply the Best." They can also be seen smiling and lovingly embracing each other as the video ends.

Novak Djokovic gears up for the Dubai Tennis Championships 2023

After claiming his record 10th title at the 2023 Australian Open, Novak Djokovic will now take to the court at the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships. The tournament began on Monday, February 27.

The World No. 1 began his 2022-23 season with a title victory at the Adelaide International 1. He then earned the first Grand Slam title of the year at the Australian Open, registering a record 12-0 win-loss in the season so far.

He had earlier shared a video of a practice session with Croat Borna Coric on-court as he geared up for the ATP 500 event. In a media interaction, he stated that he felt welcome in Dubai and was looking forward to the tournament.

The reigning Wimbledon champion has won the tournament five times. He will now be competing alongside Daniil Medvedev, Felix Auger-Aliassime and defending champion Andrey Rublev.

The top seed will square off against Czech qualifier Tomas Mechac in the opening round on Tuesday, February 28.
