Carlos Alcaraz and former World No. 3 David Ferrer were seen celebrating with a makeshift golf game on the hardcourt during the 2024 Davis Cup Finals in Valencia, Spain. The heartwarming moment came during a practice session, where Alcaraz and Ferrer shared a joyous embrace after successfully hitting the ball to the baseline.
Alcaraz, who is currently participating in the Davis Cup Finals group stage, had a disappointing second-round exit at the 2024 US Open, where he lost 1-6, 5-7, 4-6 to Botic van de Zandschulp.
However, Alcaraz quickly shifted his focus to the Davis Cup, where he is competing for the first time since September 2022. Team Spain, drawn in Group B along with Australia, France, and the Czech Republic, includes Alcaraz, Pedro Martinez, Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Carreno Busta, Marcel Granollers, and Captain David Ferrer.
The heartwarming video of Alcaraz and Ferrer’s makeshift golf game was shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user, capturing the playful moment during a practice session.
Alcaraz, guided by his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero and Captain Ferrer, used a tennis racket to hit the ball from the net to the baseline. Despite the ball initially diverting from its trajectory, Ferrer skillfully guided it back on track. The successful shot led to a warm embrace and joyous celebration between Alcaraz and Ferrer.
