Carlos Alcaraz's mother, Virginia Garfia Escandon, was left in tears after her son completed a comeback for the ages against his rival Jannik Sinner in a legendary French Open final. The Spaniard found himself two sets and even three championship points down at different moments in the match but pulled through with his unrelenting will to successfully defend his title.
The first-ever Alcaraz and Sinner Grand Slam final delivered more than what it promised; however, after five hours and 30 minutes of some of the best tennis the world has ever witnessed, there could unfortunately be only one winner. It was the man from Murcia who crushed his rival's heart and won the epic 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2).
Immediately after winning the championship, Carlos Alcaraz rushed towards his box, which included his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, parents Carlos Alcaraz Gonzales and Virginia Garfia Escandon, and other members of his family and team. While the 22-year-old shared an adorable hug with Ferrero and the other members of his team, later, his parents shared an emotional hug.
