Following his defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the Indian Wells final on Sunday, Daniil Medvedev stated that he is in a good state, mentally and physically. The former World No. 1 added that he was looking forward to the clay season but not before giving it his best shot at the upcoming Miami Open.

"I'm feeling great right now at this part of the season, mentally, physically, honestly, in my tennis. So I'm looking forward, for sure, for clay season but first I want to try to do well in Miami where it's still hard courts even if maybe it will be very slow," Medvedev said in his post-match press conference..

Medvedev secured back-to-back quarterfinal finishes at the Miami Open in 2021 and 2022, his best results in the tournament. In 2022, he was defeated by Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets.

The men's singles tournament in Miami will commence on March 22. Although the Masters 1000 event will miss the likes of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, most of the other top players on the ATP tour will grace the tournament
