Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz were involved in a hilarious incident as they waited in the corridor ahead of their final match at Wimbledon 2024. Both were confused about who should walk first and they shared a laugh before the Serb walked ahead and the defending champion followed him.
Alcaraz and Djokovic have reached the final at SW19 for the second year in a row. The Serb is vying to tie Roger Federer's record of eight Wimbledon titles and to win the elusive 25th Grand Slam title, making him the first player in history to achieve this milestone. The Spaniard, on the other hand, will be looking to defend his Wimbledon title.
Before the start of the final match, as both the opponents were waiting to enter the Centre Court, the duo shared a laugh as they were involved in an incident where both were confused as to who would walk out first.
The Spaniard let him go first, saying:
"You go first. I don’t know what the rules are."
The 24-time Grand Slam champion laughed at the Spaniard's confession and asked:
"You don't know what the rules are?"

Carlos Alcaraz confident of his chances ahead of Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic

Carlos Alcaraz was full of confidence as he assessed his chances ahead of his final against Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon. In a statement collected by Diario AS, the Spaniard said that he had full trust in his ability to win.
“I believe in myself, I believe in the level at which I am playing. I believe that I am going to win. That is in my head," Carlos Alcaraz said.
He also acknowledged Djokovic's injury and said that many analysts saw him as a favourite to lift the title due to the Serb's injury concern. The defending champion said that he did not see himself as the favourite as the Serb had been playing good tennis throughout the tournament.
“With the issue of Djokovic’s knee, maybe they see me as a favourite. Because of how he is playing, because of his statements. But if he is in a final it is because physically, tennis-wise he is at a very high level. And I do not consider myself a favourite. In a final I no longer see favourites,” he said.
Carlos Alcaraz could win a rare Channel Slam, if he manages to lift the Wimbledon 2024 title.
