Keys and Haddad Maia, in fact, will meet in a blockbuster opening-round encounter on Center Court. Fernandez will follow them out on court, taking on Diana Shnaider in what could be another big-hitting affair.
Olympics silver medallist Donna Vekic will also open her campaign with a first-round encounter against Elise Merterns, as will Anna Kalinskaya, who faces Anna Bondar in the opening-round hurdle.
Wang Xinyu, meanwhile, will lead the home challenge. The powerful Chinese takes on Caroline Dolehide in her first match. Another Chinese, Yue Yuan, will lock horns with Clara Burel.
