The Wuhan Open is a professional women’s tennis tournament held annually on hard outdoor courts. The tournament was first held in 2014, and is one of the Premier 5 tournaments on the WTA Tour. It is also one of the three major tournaments in China under WTA.
The 2018 Wuhan Open will commence from 23 to 29 September. It will be hosted in Wuhan, China at Optics Valley International Tennis Center.
The Wuhan Open has a total financial commitment of $2,746,000. The tournament is majorly being sponsored by Dongfeng Motor.
2017 Wuhan Open Champions
Caroline Garcia of France who is ranked sixth in the world defeated Ashleigh Barty of Australia 6–7(3–7), 7–6(7–4), 6–2 to win the Women’s Singles title in 2017.
In the Women’s Doubles, Chan Yung-jan and Martina Hingis defeated Shuko Aoyama and Yang Zhaoxuan 7–6(7–5), 3–6, (10–4) to win the trophy.
