"You are not coming tonight" - Tommy Paul's girlfriend Paige Lorenze reveals conversation with American as she falls sick ahead of Laver Cup gala

Tommy Paul’s girlfriend Paige Lorenze shared the conversation she had with the American after falling sick ahead of the 2023 Laver Cup gala.

Paul and his girlfriend Lorenze are currently in Vancouver, Canada, for the Laver Cup, where he will be seen representing Team World.

The model and entrepreneur has disclosed that she fell sick due to food poisoning upon arrival, which almost spoiled her chances of attending the Laver Cup’s coveted gala on Thursday, September 21.

Lorenze said that she was determined to mark her presence despite the circumstances.

“There is a gala tonight for @lavercup and I am determined to go,” she said, adding a laughing emoji. “(I definitely had food poisoning and am exhausted from work/travel it’s not anything contagious).”

She shared her conversation with Paul in the hours leading up to the gala night, where the tennis player was seen insisting the influencer to skip the event and rest up instead.

“I need medicine. I am determined to come tonight,” she recalled saying.

“Hahaha babe you are not coming tonight. I want you to come but there’s no way you can come. I’ll get you meds tho and we can go for it,” Paul responded.

“I wanna try to have good vibes and feel better,” Lorenze said.

“Okay, you’re coming,” Paul said, giving in.

“I feel like I’m on my death bed,” Lorenze confessed.

Sharing a further update, the model said that she resorted to IV therapy and nausea relief sound therapy to alleviate her symptoms.

“It’s been a rough night/ morning. Got very sick but slowly coming back to life via this IV drip lol. Have been listening to this all morning and it actually helped?” she said. "I came back to life guys."

Despite being under the weather, Paige Lorenze put on a cheerful appearance alongside Tommy Paul at the Laver Cup gala night. She dazzled in a blue halter neck gown, complementing Paul’s black tux bow-tie look.

Tommy Paul made his Laver Cup debut last year, representing the winning team – Team World. The American was an alternate at the event, so he was unable to contribute to the team’s victory.

This time around, Paul features in the main lineup alongside Fransisco Cerundolo, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and compatriots Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, and Frances Tiafoe.

The World No. 13 said that he is looking forward to putting some numbers on the board in the 2023 edition.

“You know, I'm really looking forward to it this year, hopefully put some numbers on the board for Team World and hopefully the celebration is the same,” he said in the press conference.

Paul and Tiafoe are set to lock horns with Team Europe’s Arthur Fils and Andrey Rublev in the final match of the opening day on Friday, September 22.

“Me and Foe getting out there, should be a good one. Any time I'm on the court with Foe, it's normally high level. So hopefully we can get out there and play our best tennis, and like I said, get some numbers on the board,” he added.
