With a win over young Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2019 Madrid Masters final, Djokovic became the first player to win at least 4 titles at 6 different Masters 1000 tournaments.

The Serb has won 5 titles at Indian Wells, 6 titles at Miami, 4 titles at Rome, 4 titles at the Coupe Rogers and 4 titles at Shanghai. Djokovic is the joint or outright title leader at 3 of these tournaments (Indian Wells, Miami, Shanghai).

Since a loss to Federer in the final of the 2012 Cincinnati Masters (which marked Djokovic's 10th defeat in 22 finals in the tournament category), the Serb embarked on a record streak of 12 consecutive Masters 1000 final wins.

Djokovic first saved 5 championship points to down Murray in the 2012 Shanghai Masters final. He then reeled off 11 consecutive wins in finals in the tournament category before the streak was ended by Murray with a three-set win in the 2015 Coupe Rogers final.

To put Djokovic's streak in perspective, both Federer and Nadal have won 10 consecutive Masters 1000 finals. Federer won 10 consecutive Masters 1000 finals between 2004 Indian Wells to 2006 Hamburg, while Nadal did so between 2005 Monte Carlo and 2007 Rome.
