The clash will be crucial for both the teams as it could decide who comes out on top. Rafael Nadal is regarded as the greatest clay-court player of all time and will have the advantage of playing on his favourite surface. The Germans know that he has not played since January and will lack match practice and will accordingly prepare their game plan.

Alexander Zverev is brimming with confidence after having a great run in Miami. Expect him to come hard at Nadal and play some attacking tennis. During their clash at the Australian Open in 2017, Nadal just about managed to defeat Zverev in five tough sets. The German was hampered by cramps and had a physical let-down in the fifth set.

The World No. 4 has since worked on his fitness and looks stronger and agiler. If it does go to the deciding set, Zverev might indeed have the edge.
