Players will fight for a spot in the final of the Libema Open 2025 on Day 6 (June 14) of the tournament. Second seed Ugo Humbert is the only seeded player left standing on the men's side. Reilly Opelka, Gabriel Diallo and Zizou Bergs complete the semifinal line-up.
The women's semifinal line-up features an equal split between the seeded and non-seeded players. Second seed Elise Mertens and third seed Ekaterina Alexandrova are the favorites to win the title, while Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Elisabetta Cocciaretto are the underdogs.
With a spot in the championship round up for grabs, expect everyone to put their best foot forward. On that note, here are the predictions for the men's and women's singles semifinals set to take place on Day 6 of the Libema Open 2025:
#1. Reilly Opelka vs Zizou Bergs
Opelka faltered in the Libema Open qualifiers at first but secured a main draw spot as a lucky loser. He's through to the semifinals with wins over Jesper de Jong, Nicolas Jarry and Daniil Medvedev. He didn't drop his serve even once against the Russian in the previous round and fired 24 aces.
Bergs beat Alexander Blockx and Alexei Popyrin in three sets to make the last eight. He scored a 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) win against Mark Lajal to reach his first career semifinal on grass. He also won his previous match against Opelka at last year's Winston-Salem Open in three sets.
Opelka's serve gives him a massive advantage on grass. He has also improved his results on the surface since last year. As such, he will be favored to beat Bergs to book his spot in the final. Our detailed preview for the match can be found here.
Predicted winner: Reilly Opelka
#2. Ugo Humbert vs Gabriel Diallo

Humbert beat Dan Evans and Nuno Borges in straight sets to reach the semifinals of the Libema Open. Diallo ousted Aleksandar Vukic in the first round and followed it up with a comeback win over sixth seed Jordan Thompson. He upset third seed Karen Khachanov in straight sets to make the last four.
Diallo's star is on the rise this year. He previously reached his first Masters 1000 quarterfinal at the Madrid Open. Having improved his results on clay, he has now done the same on grass to reach his first semifinal on the surface.
Humbert, meanwhile, has reached the fourth round of Wimbledon twice and also won a title on grass in Halle four years ago. He has a 15-10 record this year, while Diallo has a 14-11 record for the season. The Canadian has already upset a couple of seeded players.
Humbert presents more of a challenge than Diallo's previous adversaries this week due to his success on grass. However, the young Canadian could pull off yet another upset to reach his first final of the season.
Predicted winner: Gabriel Diallo
#3. Elise Mertens vs Ekaterina Alexandrova
Alexandrova defeated Mariam Bolkvadze, Anna Blinkova and eighth seed Veronika Kudermetova to reach the semifinals of the Libema Open. Mertens did the same with wins over Viktoriya Tomova, Maria Sakkari and Yuan Yue.
Alexandrova leads their rivalry 3-1. She won their most recent meeting at this year's Qatar Open in straight sets. Their very first encounter took place at the Libema Open, which she won in straight sets as well.
The Libema Open has become Alexandrova's favorite hunting ground. She now has an 18-3 record at the venue, including back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. Given her record here and against Mertens as well, she will be the firm favorite to reach her third final at the tournament.
Predicted winner: Ekaterina Alexandrova
#4. Elena-Gabriela Ruse vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto

Cocciaretto hasn't dropped a set this week, beating Arianne Hartono, Bernarda Pera and Suzan Lamens to book her spot in the semifinals. Ruse has done the same, albeit right from the qualifying rounds. Her most recent win came against former US Open champion and last year's runner-up Bianca Andreescu, beating her 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
This is a huge opportunity for both players to reach their first final on grass. This will be the first career meeting between them. Cocciaretto has improved her results on the surface with every passing season. She advanced to her first semifinal on grass in Birmingham a year ago and has done the same at the Libema Open.
Ruse, meanwhile, is contesting her first semifinal on the surface. She has looked imposing in all of her matches this week. While Cocciaretto has been pushed to a tie-break thrice this week, the Romanian has conceded no more than four games per set the entire week. Her dominant run here makes her the favorite to win this match.
Predicted winner: Elena-Gabriela Ruse
