Taylor Fritz vs Marton Fucsovics preview

Second seed Taylor Fritz will continue his campaign at the 2025 Stuttgart Open as he takes on Hungarian qualifier Marton Fucsovics in the quarterfinals.
2025 has been a difficult season for Fritz as the American has struggled with injuries. Some of his better hard-court results include a semi-final run at the Miami Open, where he eventually lost 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-7 (4) against Jakub Mensik.
The clay swing was underwhelming for Fritz as he could win multiple matches only in Madrid, losing 5-7, 4-6 against Casper Ruud. Being one of the top seeds at the French Open, Fritz lost in the first round, going down 5-7, 6-3, 3-6, 1-6 against Daniel Altmaier. Being the second seed, he got an opening-round bye in Stuttgart and began his campaign with a 6-3, 7-6 (6) win against Quentin Halys in the second round.
Meanwhile, Marton Fucsovics has played at a handful of main Tour-level events in 2025, his best result being a semifinal run in Bucharest where he lost 2-6, 2-6 against Sebastian Baez. He had success on the Challenger Tour, winning the event in Manama with a 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-4 win over Andrea Vavassori in the final.
At the Stuttgart Open, Fucsovics won 6-4, 6-7 (2), 7-5 against Patrick Zahraj and 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2 against Beibit Zukhayev in the qualifying rounds to enter the main draw. He began his campaign with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Yannick Hanfmann and followed it up with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win over Arthur Rinderknech.

Taylor Fritz vs Marton Fucsovics prediction
Fritz has a 100 percent win record in grass-court finals, as the American player has three titles on the surface from three finals. His last grass-court final came last year when he won the title in Eastbourne, with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Max Paurcell in the summit clash.
Fucsovics has yet to reach a grass-court final in his career, as all four career finals have come on hard and clay courts. He does have a Challenger title on grass, as he won the title in Ilkley in 2017, with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Alex Bolt in the final.
Being the seeded player and having a positive head-to-head against his opponent, Fritz is the favorite to win the upcoming match.
