Vardhan-Sanam get wildcards for Chennai Open

India’s talented tennis pair of Vishnu Vardhan and Sanam Singh has been given a wildcard for the doubles event of the Chennai Open starting Monday.
Besides Vardhan and Sanam, N Sriram Balaji and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, newly-crowned national champion, have also been given a wildcard for the doubles event for the $430,000 tennis tournament.
Karti Chidambaram, chairman of the organising committee, said: “Players such as Vishnu Vardhan, Sanam, Balaji and Nedunchezhiyan represent the future of Indian tennis. There is no doubt that they hold a lot of promise and the wild cards encourage them and recognise that fact.”
