Wimbledon 2015: Top 5 matches to watch on Day 6

  1. Garbine Muguruza Vs Angelique Kerber

This one promises to be an exciting match. Angelique Kerber reached the quarterfinals here last year and has registered two impressive wins already this year including a double bagel Carina Witthoeft in the first round.

Garbine Muguruza has also looked solid despite dropping a set against Mirjana Lucic Baroni in the second round. Both players are good from the baseline and one should expect a lot of grinding rallies coupled with some brilliant winners.

Kerber leads the rivalry 3-1, but Muguruza got the better of the German at this year’s Frenc Open.

Match Time: 4 pm IST.

  1. Jelena Jankovic Vs Petra Kvitova

Another blockbuster match in the women’s draw pits former World No.1 Jelena Jankovic against defending champion Petra Kvitova.

The Czech won both her matches comfortably including two bagels in both rounds. Jankovic, on the other hand has gone the distance in both her matches.

Kvitova holds the edge in this matchup as the No. 4 seed leads their rivalry 4-2, two of which came this year.

Match Time: Around 7:30 pm IST.

  1. Ivo Karlovic Vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga came through a tough opener against Gilles Muller, but looked comfortable in his straight sets dismissal of Albert Ramos Vinolas in Round 2. Ico Karlovic was stretched all the way in the fifth by Alexandr Dolgopolov, but the Croat won 13-11 in the fifth.

This match is likely to contain a lot of aces with both serving extremely well thus far in the tournament.

The rivalry is tied at 1-1, with Tsonga being the last victor at the 2009 wimbledon Championships.
