The only active player on the list is the legendary American, Serena Williams. Serena shocked the world in 2017 when it came to light that at the time of her Australian Open triumph that year, she was pregnant. It is truly remarkable that Serena was able to produce such a masterclass winning the tournament without dropping a single set at the age of 35 and carrying her child.

Of all the Grand Slam tournaments, Serena has the least losses at Melbourne - losing just 10 matches since 1998. She is also the only woman to have won the title on both Rebound Ace and Plexicushion surfaces. Her wins in 2003, 2005 and 2007 came on the Rebound Ace surface. Her other wins in 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2017 have been on the latest Plexicushion Surface.

In all, Serena has won the Australian Open Singles title 7 times. Melbourne is one of her favorite venues as she also has 4 Grand Slam Doubles victories here.
