Deep Cover is a British comedy drama film by Tom Kingsley from a screenplay by Colin Trevorrow, Derek Connolly, Ben Ashenden, and Alexander Owen. It was released on Prime Video on June 12, 2025.

The story revolves around three actors who are hired by the police to infiltrate the London underworld. However, they must act like hard-boiled criminals to do their work and save themselves from dangerous situations.

The cast is led by Bryce Dallas Howard, Orlando Bloom, Nick Mohammed, and Sean Bean. The supporting cast includes Paddy Considine, Ian McShane, Sonoya Mizuno, and several others.

Orlando Bloom plays Marlon, one of the three improv actors who are tasked with infiltrating London’s gangland. The actor gained global recognition through his work in The Lord of the Rings film series, where he played Legolas.

He subsequently starred in several major motion pictures, including Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, The Hobbit, and the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. He is also known for Black Hawk Down, The Outpost, and New York, I Love You.

Bryce Dallas Howard as Kat

Bryce Dallas Howard plays a comedian and teacher, Kat, who is approached by a cop for a dangerous gig. The actress is the daughter of filmmaker Ron Howard. She gained prominence through lead roles in M. Night Shyamalan's The Village and Lady in the Water.

This was followed by roles in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, Terminator Salvation, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and The Help. She recently appeared in the Jurassic World trilogy as Claire Dearing.

Nick Mohammed as Hugh

Nick Mohammed plays the third undercover improv comedy actor tasked to bring down London's notorious criminals by acting like them.

Mohammed is a comedian and writer who gained prominence by playing Mr. Swallow on TV and stage. His performance as Nathan in Ted Lasso gave him global recognition and two consecutive Emmy nominations.

Sean Bean as Billings

Sean Bean plays Billings, the cop who orchestrated the entire plan to make three actors play ruthless criminals. Bean was Orlando Bloom's co-star in the first two The Lord of the Rings movie.

After doing notable work on stage, the actor appeared in popular films of the 90s such as Patriot Games, GoldenEye, and Ronin. His other projects include National Treasure, Troy, Flightplan, The Martian, and Game of Thrones.

The official synopsis of the film reads:

"Deep Cover is a fast-paced action comedy starring Bryce Dallas Howard as Kat, an improv comedy teacher beginning to question if she’s missed her shot at success."

"When an undercover cop (Sean Bean) offers her the role of a lifetime, she recruits two of her students (Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed) to infiltrate London’s gangland by impersonating dangerous criminals," it further reads.
