Spaceballs 2 is officially happening, as confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios in June 2025. The long-awaited sequel to the 1987 sci-fi parody is in development with a theatrical release scheduled for 2027. This project, which had been rumored for decades, has now been greenlit with key cast and crew onboard.

The film is directed by Josh Greenbaum, who is known for Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, and written by Josh Gad, Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit.
