Actor John Travolta opened up about the time he spent with Bruce Wills on sets of Pulp Fiction while attending the 30th-anniversary screening of the film. The 70-year-old actor walked the red carpet with his daughter Ella Travolta on Thursday, April 18, 2024. While speaking to ET's Cassie DiLaura about his friendship with Willis, he said that the two actors have a history and discussed the films they did together.

"Bruce and I had a history. We did Look Who's Talking together, and we had a massive success with it. So we were. We had been on vacation together, Kelly (Preston) and I with Bruce and Demi (Moore). So this was not new. We were comfortable with each other," Travolta said.

The cult-classic film, Pulp Fiction, was screened as part of the 2024 TCM Classic Film Festival Opening Night at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Released in 1994, the film focuses on three intertwining tales of crime in Los Angeles.

John Travolta played the hitman, Vincent Vega, while Bruce Willis played champion boxer Butch Coolidge. The two characters interact with each other when Coolidge confronts Vega, who breaks into his apartment on the orders of his boss.

John Travolta spoke to Cassie DiLaura about working with Bruce Willis, stating that it was easy for the two of them to work with each other.

"It was very easy to be with each other and relax, you know? And there was real genuine care. And we felt lucky we were in a very special movie," the star said.

Bruce Willis was unable to attend Thursday's screening owing to his struggles with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). However, his wife Emma Heming Willis, and daughter with Demi Moore, Tallulah Willis represented the actor in his absence.

Pulp Fiction isn't the only movie that Travolta and Willis have worked together in. They have previously worked in Look Who’s Talking (1989) and its sequel Look Who’s Talking Too (1990). More recently, they worked on 2021's Paradise City together.

Pulp Fiction premiered at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Palme d'Or, and quickly became a critical and commercial success. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

The film earned several accolades for its cast, including John Travolta, whose career was reportedly on the decline at the time. Quentin Tarantino, the writer and director of the film also shot to success with it.

Talking about the opportunity to work on the film, Travolta told Variety that at the time he was "desperately looking for a second chance" at his career.

"I had a great first chapter, and I was desperately looking for a second one. And (Quentin)] took me to the moon and back. After that, it was mind-boggling, the opportunities that came my way. I mean, an actor can only fantasize about what happened after that for me. It was next level," Travolta said.

While the film is a cult favorite, John Travolta's daughter, too, is a big fan of Pulp Fiction. He said that Ella first saw the movie when she was 18, and "loved all of it." He told DiLaura that his daughter was a "film buff" who had "good taste in film."

Ella also spoke about Pulp Fiction and said that it was a "perfect movie."

"I mean, obviously, I spent my whole life hearing about it and seeing clips of it. But then, when I saw it, it's a perfect movie," Ella praised.

Other cast members who attended the 30th Anniversary screening of the film included Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Harvey Keitel, Rosanna Arquette, and Eric Stoltz.
