Sharon Osbourne recently revealed that she kicked a band from the line-up for Black Sabbath's "Back to the Beginning" concert in Birmingham on July 5, 2025. The show will reportedly be the band's first reunion in over twenty years and will also be the last live performance for both the band and its former frontman, Ozzy Osbourne.
During her interview with Metal Hammer, published on June 6, Sharon Osbourne disclosed that she had a band removed from the show's final line-up after an argument with their manager, saying it was the "worst I've felt in years."
“I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy and Sabbath. And it was probably the worst way I’ve felt in years. And I don’t care what this person says about me, thinks about it, because he doesn’t know me. And he’s now going around making up bulls**t lies because I threw his band off the bill,” she said.
Sharon Osbourne continued:
“I don’t care what people say. Because do you know what? I don’t love them. I care about people who love me, what they say about me. You can’t care what an industry says, because you don’t love them, so how can it hurt you? It doesn’t.”
When asked if Iron Maiden was the band she was forced to kick out of the line-up, Sharon Osbourne denied it. She also added that her husband had "respect for the guys in Maiden." For context, Sharon had a disagreement with Maiden's singer, Bruce Dickinson, during Ozzfest in 2005.
Black Sabbath's final live performance in Birmingham is expected to feature an all-star lineup of heavy metal acts, including Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Slayer, Limp Bizkit and Rage Against the Machine. The show will also be livestreamed for a fee of $29.99.
"Back to the Beginning" holds meaning for Ozzy Osbourne fans due to his medical history. The musician has faced several health issues, including a Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 2003 and undergoing several spinal surgeries.
However, the 76-year-old rockstar is determined to put on a great performance for the final show of his career. During a May interview with Billy Morrison on SiriusXM “Ozzy Speaks,” he promised fans, “by hook or by crook, I’m gonna make it" to his hometown concert.
Sharon Osbourne was 18 when she first heard of Black Sabbath
Sharon Osbourne, who has been managing Ozzy Osbourne for most of his career, revealed that she was 18 years old when she first heard of Black Sabbath. During her recent interview with Metal Hammer, Sharon said the band was different from any musical performance she had ever seen, adding:
“I was 18 when I first heard of Black Sabbath, and I saw them at the Marquee. I had never heard anything like it – it was so different. At first I was like, ‘What the f**k is this?’ And then I saw Ozzy come out and the way he was performing.”
She continued:
“My whole thing was, I loved to see the singer with three back-up singers doing dances in evening suits. Maybe a bit of a brass section. And it was like, ‘What the f**k?’ And then I got into it. It was one of those magic nights where the Marquee was sweating.”
During the interview, Sharon Osbourne was also asked about how she was able to manage the musician after he was kicked out of Black Sabbath due to drug and alcohol abuse in 1979. She stated that she tried to encourage him with the "comfort of friendship."
Sharon added that Ozzy's friendship with guitarist Randy Rhoads (who worked on his first two albums before he died in 1982) was a "calming influence" for her husband. After leaving Black Sabbath, Osbourne became a solo performer and released his first album, Blizzard of Ozz, in 1980.
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne married in 1982 and share three kids. Their lives were also chronicled on MTV's reality television series The Osbournes from 2002 to 2005.
