Khalid’s former boyfriend and rapper Hugo D Almonte took to social media to release a statement after outing the former’s s*xuality. The latter claimed that he did so while in an irrational “state of mind.” His official statement follows the Location crooner's own address to allegations of drug use and claims that he paid for s*x.

On November 28, Hugo D Almonte posted on X and his Instagram stories to share his official statement. Without naming Khalid in his entire post, he stated that it was not his “place to reveal something so personal,” referring to the outing. Almonte added:

“What led to that moment was years of emotional abuse, manipulation, and relentless lies that took a toll on my mental health in ways I never imagined.”

Almonte continued:

"I'm here to take responsibility. But I'm also here to ask for understanding. I was manipulated, lied about, and emotionally abused for years. I reached a point where my mental health collapsed, and I made a mistake I deeply regret."

The statement comes after Hugo D Almonte, an openly bisexual singer, previously shared an image of himself alongside Khalid on X. He then tweeted moments later:

“B**ch a*s lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”

Exploring Hugo D Almonte’s official statement after outing Khalid

Without naming Khalid, Almonte stated that he met him at a party. He shared that the former reached out to him because he loved his “energy and wanted to get to know me better.” Almonte then said:

“They [Khalid] told me they had been watching me for a while, even bookmarking my photos, but they were waiting to contact me because they were involved with someone else at the time.”

Almonte alleged that the Saturday Nights singer told him that “someone they loved had stolen $100,000 from them.”

The Dominican rapper then shared that the duo eventually got into a relationship and were “house hunting together.” Almonte stated that he decided to keep his original residence as he “knew how situations like this could turn.”

Almonte mentioned that he began hearing rumors about him breaking into Khalid’s residence and stealing. He tried confronting the Adore U singer, but they “ran out of the club, pacing back and forth.” Almonte also alleged that he was threatened by the musician, who allegedly told him:

“Good luck with your career. You’re lucky I don’t get the cops involved.”

Almonte claimed to have reached out to the singer’s manager, who knew Almonte did not break into the house. He added:

“For years, I stayed silent, carrying the weight of these accusations. I tried to move on, but the constant lies, manipulation, and threats took a toll on my mental health. I was exhausted, emotionally drained, and at times, I didn’t recognize myself anymore.”

Almonte explained that on the day he outed Khalid, he “went into a psychosis” and “wasn’t thinking clearly.” The rapper added that his mental health state did not excuse his actions for outing somebody:

“But I need you to understand that I was pushed to a place where I felt powerless, voiceless, and out of control.”

Almonte concluded by saying that he was focusing on healing and expressed gratitude:

“Thank you to those who’ve supported me and those who’ve held me accountable. I hear you, and I’m taking the steps to change.”

Khalid denies drug usage and addresses other allegations

On November 25, the 26-year-old shared a video on X to address Almonte’s allegations of him using “pink cocaine.” The R&B singer stated that while he consumes alcohol and weed, he has “never done cocaine a day in my life.”

The singer then addressed allegations of him paying escorts, saying:

“I’ve never paid for s*x a day in my life. Ever. I’ve never paid anybody to date me. I’ve never paid anybody to be in a relationship with me.”

Speaking about somebody breaking into his residence, he stated that the only people who know about a break-in is his “close circle.”

He added that the last time he spoke to Almonte was “four to five years ago.” He added:

“I don’t know why he did it. I don’t know what’s going on with him. Mental health is real. But I haven't seen this dude in four years.”

Khalid then stated that the only reason he was addressing the drama was that he was being painted as a “manipulative abuser.” He found that “triggering” as it was “the other way around.”

At the time of writing this article, Khalid had not responded to Almonte’s latest statement.
