Gene Deal is trending online after he recently criticized Mase for his alleged false comments related to The Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie. The former security head of Bad Boy Records additionally criticized Mase for seemingly mocking Biggie’s security on the day when the rapper was shot dead.

Gene Deal appeared for an interview with The Art of Dialogue on June 15, 2025, where he expressed his disappointment. It was about the fact that Mase and Cam’ron were laughing while allegedly referring to Biggie’s security in an episode of It Is What It Is, which aired last week.

“Mase said that his life don’t mean anything. Well, I guess Mase, you got that number one spot, or you wanted that number one spot ‘cause you didn’t tell Big. You didn’t tell Big, bro, and you still didn’t get the number one spot cause Diddy took it. If you going to talk bro, name names. If you going to say something about motherf**ker, say they name”, Gene said.

Gene mentioned in the video that it was disturbing for him to watch Mase and Cam’ron allegedly giving a funny response to Biggie’s security. Gene said that it is because he was present when Biggie was shot dead, and he is well aware of everything that happened.

Gene Deal also explained the reasons he was speaking about Mase and Cam’ron’s reaction. He stated:

“When people hear something about Bad Boy security, especially in the ‘90s and the early 2000s, it was either Big Jean, Wolf, Paul. They had people that was behind the scenes. But the people out front was Big Jean, Wolf, and Paul. Myself Wolf and Paul.”

In 2023, Gene appeared for another interview with The Art of Dialogue, where he was heard speaking on Biggie’s death. According to Vibe magazine, Gene dismissed the claims of Biggie not being murdered in a drive-by shooting during the conversation.

Gene Deal said that he was not happy with the fact that a lot of lies were being allegedly spread about The Notorious B.I.G.’s death through various things, including documentaries.

Gene addressed the same by saying:

“I don’t want to make this racial, but they take these white boys who wasn’t even there and want to use the stories that they want to tell, which is not the truth.”

Gene mentioned that Biggie’s death has continued to haunt him over the years, as he claimed that he was the one who helped Biggie after being shot. Gene Deal said that he became emotional when Biggie died in front of him and referred to the security team of the late artist by saying:

“The people that was bodyguarding Big didn’t do everything in their power to stop it from being Big – and that hurts me, even though it wasn’t my principle. Every time you hear his music, every time you see one of these murals on the wall, now they got statuses… it’s gon’ hurt until God takes me away from here.”

As per People magazine, Biggie was shot dead in 1997, and the incident happened around a year after the death of Tupac Shakur. Biggie was 24 years old and released 2 albums, including Ready to Die and Life After Death, before his demise.
