TMZ’s latest Downfall of Diddy documentary has raised more questions as more interesting allegations and revelations have come to light about the embattled hip-hop mogul Sean Combs, better known in the rap scene as Diddy.

It all began as the rapper made headlines in November 2023 following a lawsuit filed by the rapper’s ex, Cassie Ventura, claiming that Diddy had s*xually assaulted her between 2007 and 2018. The lawsuit made a domino effect as several other women have come forward with different allegations, from s*xual misconduct to trafficking.

The situation escalated further following a raid in Diddy’s LA home, which included federal agents and Homeland Security Investigations.

The explosive documentary film, about 68 minutes long, premiered on Sunday, April 28, on Tubi. The Downfall of Diddy doc began with TMZ’s Harvey Levin, who, in a voice-over narration, mentioned that “there were rumblings about Diddy’s bad behavior for years.”

In the rest of the documentary, the outlet unpacks all controversies involving the rapper, from the recent raids in his home to his s*xual assault and s*x trafficking allegations made against him.

7 Allegations highlighted in TMZ’s Downfall of Diddy documentary

Featuring rare testimonies and alleged first-hand accounts from Aubrey O’Day, Mark Curry, Suge Knight, and Stevie J, TMZ Presents: The Downfall of Diddy drives into the intricate web of allegations made against the renowned music mogul.

1) Diddy’s abuse changed Aubrey O’Day’s ‘entire life’

Singer and former Bad Boy Records artist Aubrey O’Day is one of the personalities who has been vocal about her disdain for the music mogul. Sharing a first-hand experience with the Bad Boy Records founder in the Downfall of Diddy documentary, O’Day didn’t hold back on how Diddy’s “mistreatment” had affected her life.

“The mistreatment is enough to change the course and the direction of my entire life. The mistreatment was enough for me to spend a good amount of time in the hands of professionals to learn what grooming is and unlearn the grooming,” the former Daniky Kane member said.

O’Day has also mentioned that some details of the mistreatment are “so bad” that she’s not ready to talk about it, but she will. The singer also mentioned that she had been in “physically abusive situations,” but that verbal one hurt her “way more.”

“On Making The Band alone, we experienced intimidation tactics, body-shaming, beatdowns, and then when we thought we were absolutely nothing, it was very much like he was training us to be good soldiers,” she further said about the alleged abuse.

Aubrey O’Day also referenced the publishing rights turned over to Bad Boy Records artists.

“I received the publishing deal, I know what it says, I know how much money it was giving me. I’ll tell you: $300.30,” she said.

When Harvey Levin asked about Diddy’s motivation for releasing the publishing rights in Downfall of Diddy, the former Danity Kane singer, who didn't sign the deal, claimed that it was a way to “keep as many people as quiet as possible.”

2) '250 cameras' confiscated from Diddy’s home

Another former Bad Boy Records artist, Mark Curry, has more to say about Diddy. Sitting down for TMZ’s Downfall of Diddy, he claimed that he can attest to the rapper’s physically abusive behavior towards women. However, he said that it was a behavior Diddy did “behind closed doors.”

Curry also dropped another bombshell about the rapper, referencing celebrities who have kept quiet over Diddy’s public ordeal. The rapper alleged that many recording devices were confiscated from Diddy’s home.

“They have 250 cameras they took from his house. A lot of people may be running from that tape,” he claimed.

He also alluded to those secret recordings as the reason many people have chosen to remain silent about Diddy’s public ordeal.

“If they have 250 cameras from his home, they have a whole bunch of images or footage of things that were going on in his house,” Curry said in Downfall of Diddy.

3) Ex-Diddy producer Lil Rod’s lawyer is under review by the federal disciplinary committee

Tyrone Blackburn, an attorney representing ex-Diddy producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones and the lead counsel in the s*xual abuse case against Diddy, is under fire for alleged misconduct. Levin said that Blackburn is “under the microscope of a federal disciplinary committee in New York” for an alleged “sordid shakedown campaign” in an attempt to extract settlements from high-profile figures.

“A judge who ordered that committee to look into Blackburn’s tactics said the lawyer had shown a pattern of filing cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly," Levin further mentioned.

4) An anonymous employee backed out from doing the Downfall of Diddy doc

The rapper's critics were not the only ones supposed to participate in TMZ’s Downfall of Diddy documentary. An anonymous former employee of Diddy was supposed to defend him, but he backed out at the last minute.

In a text to TMZ producers, the said persona mentioned the reason behind the decision:

“I’m worried Diddy has many enemies. I am afraid that if I give my thoughts on what I experienced, I may be ruled a target. I’m still on his side as far as my experience. His enemies may come after me. East coast vs. west coast still exists.”

5) Celebs remaining silent about the rapper getting called out

While many high-profile names have come out to share their thoughts about the Diddy scandal, 50 Cent for one, some have maintained eerie “silence” about the recent issues. BET News host Marc Lamont Hill echoed the sentiment, saying:

“Hollywood is eerily and noticeably quiet about all of the Diddy controversy right now. I think there’s a very simple reason for it; People in glass houses don’t want to throw stones.”

Tracy Walder, a former CIA officer and FBI special agent, also mentioned the “radio silence” surrounding the case, which she said is “highly unusual.”

“Even if you look at, say R. Kelly—someone who is very much maligned and should be given what he’s convicted for, he did have supporters early on. Diddy has none. It’s crickets,” she said.

Calling out the celebrities who remained tight-lipped about Diddy’s controversy, TMZ’s Downfall of Diddy had a special video montage dedicated to them. The clip features stars who have been out and about with the infamous rapper at various events, including Justin Bieber, Snoop Dog, Mary J. Blige, Ashton Kutcher, Eddie Murphy, and LeBron James.

6) Cassie might be a key witness against Diddy

Near the end of TMZ’s Downfall of Diddy documentary, federal authorities mentioned that Cassie Ventura may be significant to what comes next for Diddy.

Former federal prosecutor Andrew Cherkasky said that it would be the feds’ responsibility to prove the rapper had used force or coercion. Hence, a collection of evidence and testimony regarding the alleged “s*xual business” would greatly help the case. Cherkasky added that Cassie may be subpoenaed to become one of the witnesses testifying in court.

Tracy Walder further noted that certain pros*******s are willing to cross state lines with the rapper, although she elaborated that the power dynamic remains in question.

“It just takes one of them to be doing [it] against their will for it to be considered human trafficking,” she said.

In a phone interview from Ronald Donovan Correctional Facility in California, Knight said:

“My first reaction, it’s not the reaction I thought I’d had when it came to Puffy. I thought it’d be a reaction, like, he got what he got coming ‘cause everybody knows what’s been going on.”

The former music executive further mentioned that his first reaction was about the kids.

“The first thing that came to my mind was, you know, he has his sons, he has his daughters,” he said.

Later in the Downfall of Diddy doc, Knight discussed the industry's silence regarding Diddy’s recent woes and called it “signs of guilt.”
