Nicki Minaj dissed former NFL player and podcaster Shannon Sharpe in her latest collab with rapper Lil Wayne, Banned From NO remix. She also seemingly dissed Jay-Z in the track, which was released on June 11, 2025.
"'Bout to cop you slides, all you do is flip-flop / If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that Sharpe," the lyrics read.
The feud between Sharpe and Minaj began in February 2024, when a fan (@CallofDutyBarb) told the podcaster on X that Minaj had mentioned his podcast Club Shay Shay on Station Head, stating that she wanted to be on it. Shannon Sharpe reshared the X post and asked who Nicki was.

Nicki Minaj called out Sharpe via the diss track on June 11, 2025. Soon after, he responded on his Nightcap show on Thursday, June 12. He stated that he misunderstood the netizen's tweet last year, and he was referring to Nikki Haley, an American politician and diplomat.
"I used to go back and forth with people. I was talking about Nikki Haley. Nikki Haley said it's really great for everybody of Black America, and I was like... 'When has it ever been great?' So somebody says Nicki really wants to come on your podcast. I'm like, 'Nicki, who?'" Sharpe stated.
Shannon Sharpe then apologized to the rapper, saying he never intended to be disrespectful, saying he's not "that arrogant." He then invited her to his podcast and said she was always welcome to join in a conversation.
"Nicki, I was not trying to be disrespectful. Of course, I know who you are. I would be remiss to say that I thought you knew who I was or that you knew anything about Club Shay Shay. I'm not that arrogant... Nicki, I apologize. I meant no disrespect. You'll always have an open invitation if you ever want to come sit down and have a conversation," the podcaster said.
Nicki Minaj confirmed that she dissed Shannon Sharpe in Lil Wayne's track, Banned From NO remix
The same day when Nicki Minaj dropped the Banned From NO remix, she wrote on X that she remembered Shannon Sharpe's X post from the previous year, and the diss was directed at him. She added laughing emojis and jokingly stated that his co-host Chad Ochocinco caught some strays by being near him.
"If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that sharp!!!! Yeah n***a you thought I forgot that "Nicki who" sh*t you did? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO j/k. Ochocinco almost caught a strizzy just by being around yo crazy tail self," the rapper wrote on X.

According to VIBE's June 11, 2025, report, Minaj also reportedly dissed Jay-Z and the NFL in the track because Lil Wayne was seemingly snubbed in his hometown of New Orleans during the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
"NFL, fire some ni**as and then call us!" Minaj rapped.
Nicki Minaj has not responded to Shannon Sharpe's apology at the time of writing this article.
