Love Island USA season 7 has had its fair share of shifting connections and unexpected turns, but the triangle between Ace Greene, Chelley Bissainthe, and Austin Shepard stands out for how unclear and tangled it’s become. The latest episode, which aired on June 12, 2025, showed just how messy things have gotten.
While Chelley tries to figure out her true feelings, both Ace and Austin are sending mixed signals — one with grand gestures and the other with quiet consistency. Ace surprised Chelley with a planned breakfast in episode 9, a move that seemed thoughtful on the surface but also came off as calculated.
Austin, meanwhile, didn’t react strongly, but his discomfort was obvious. Chelley, caught between two very different personalities, admitted she’s confused and not sure what to do next. With recoupling on the way and three new bombshells entering the villa, the pressure is rising.
In my opinion, this situation is no longer just about attraction — it’s become a contest of who can play it smarter, not deeper. And that’s exactly why this love triangle might be the most confusing one we’ve seen this season.
Ace and Austin are both showing interest, but neither is being clear in Love Island USA
Ace may have stepped up his efforts, but the intention behind them still feels unclear. His breakfast date idea was bold, but Chelley herself didn’t give a strong response either way. He later told the boys he wasn’t going to let someone else “win,” which suggests that this is just as much about competition as connection.
On the other hand, Austin has been quieter, more reserved — but also hasn’t made his intentions completely clear. Chelley admitted to the girls that she’s unsure about who she wants to pursue, which only makes things harder to watch. From the outside, it looks like she’s caught in a loop: Ace brings the drama, Austin brings the calm, but neither is offering stability.
In one moment, Austin seems protective; in another, he steps back. Ace says he’s all in, but still tends to make it about him. The back-and-forth has left Chelley visibly overwhelmed, and Love Island USA viewers too. If both guys really cared about Chelley, they would be focusing on communication instead of trying to outdo each other.
Right now, it feels like Chelley is being made to choose between two incomplete pictures, and neither Ace nor Austin is helping her see the full one.
Chelley’s stuck in the middle, and it’s starting to feel unfair in Love Island USA
Chelley’s position in this triangle is clearly taking a toll. She’s mentioned how torn she feels, and the pressure of choosing between two men who both seem unsure of themselves is making it harder. What’s worse is that both are acting like they’re waiting for her to decide, without taking responsibility for their part in the confusion.
Ace wants to be the main character in Chelley’s story, but that can’t happen without trust. His moves might look romantic, but they also seem like reactions to Austin’s presence, not responses to Chelley’s needs. Austin, meanwhile, has been more emotionally grounded but hasn’t been clear with his intentions either. He says he respects Chelley’s choices, yet he’s still in this triangle — mostly by default.
The most confusing part is that this love triangle isn’t really about love anymore. It’s about control, timing, and maybe even pride. Chelley deserves more than that in Love Island USA. She deserves clarity, not competition. Until one of them decides to be honest — or until Chelley decides to walk away from both — this might remain the most tangled connection of the season.
And in my opinion, it’s exactly this lack of direction from all sides that makes Ace, Chelley, and Austin’s triangle the most confusing one Love Island USA has given us so far.
