Kim Kardashian reacts to Kourtney Kardashian's 14-year-old son Mason Disick joining Instagram

Mason Disick is the latest Kardashian family member to join Instagram, and aunt Kim Kardashian could not be prouder. 14-year-old Mason is the eldest of Kris Jenner's 13 grandchildren and the first to have his social media profile.

On May 25, the teenager officially joined Instagram with his own verified account. The account was soon shared with the world through his mother’s Instagram story, where she shared his first official post and said:

"My first baby is on insta and I'm not OK.""

Several members of the huge Kardashian-Jenner clan soon chimed in on his posts, with Kim Kardashian expressing her surprise by commenting

"You're really on Instagram."

Incidentally, Kim shares a joint TikTok account with her oldest daughter, 10-year-old North West. Kourtney, too, shares a TikTok account with Penelope.

Mason Disick’s other aunt, Khloe Kardashian, also shared Mason’s profile on her Instagram, saying:

"I can't believe my @masondisick is on insta. The one who named us Kiki and KoKo is a legit teenager."

She also expressed the same sentiment in a comment on his first post, saying:

"I can't believe this is happening."

Mason Disick had attempted to open an Instagram profile earlier, which was shut down by mom Kourtney Kardashian

Mason Disick is the oldest of Kourtney’s children, shared with her ex-partner Scott Disick. They also share Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9. Kourtney is currently married to Blink-182’s drummer, Travis Barker, and the two share 6-month-old Rocky Thirteen.

The teenager shared three posts on his first day on the social media platform, including several pictures of his family and friends. The first picture is a solo image of Mason on a balcony. His friends feature in the second one, along with a picture with his younger sister, Penelope Disick, with the caption “Fam.”

Mason’s third photo, which is captioned "(Mirror) Pics is all we know," featured his little brother Reign Disick.

For the unversed, this is not the first time Mason has attempted to join social media platforms. In 2020, the teenager reportedly attempted to open a few Instagram and TikTok pages that quickly went viral. However, Kourtney Kardashian soon put a stop to that. She opened up about this in a conversation with Miranda Kerr for Vogue Paris in 2021, where she said,

"Mason started some secret accounts during quarantine. Those were quickly shut down."

Incidentally, Kim Kardashian's daughter, North West, too, had opened a personal TikTok account, which was soon shut down. The 10-year-old currently runs a joint TikTok account with mom Kim Kardashian called @KimAndNorth, which has over 14.6 million followers. For comparison, Kim Kardashian’s personal TikTok account has almost half that number of followers.

Mason Disick is no stranger to the public scrutiny of his life. His birth was the first among the Kardashian kids to be documented, back in 2010 for the season four finale of E!'s Keeping Up With the Kardashians. However, in recent years, Disick has been kept out of the spotlight by his parents and rarely appears in the ongoing show The Kardashians. His Instagram profile, however, may invite the public’s gaze back into his life.
