Summer House: Martha's Vineyard aired a brand new episode on Sunday, April 21, 2024. During the episode, titled The Worst Kept Secret, the cast got into several disagreements and conflicts over the potential upcoming presence of former cast members, Phil and Mariah.

As per the synopsis of the episode:

"After a tumultuous outing, Amir gets the house together for a Texas-style rodeo day; Jasmine struggles internally over a surprise; Summer and Noelle revisit a topic that causes friction; Preston decides to confront a past issue."

While Bria was strictly against Mariah joining them in season 2, she felt differently about Phil and had a fight with Preston about it. Preston, who didn't like Phil, eventually agreed to talk to Phil over FaceTime and the latter apologized for his behavior in season 1.

During the phone call, Phil told Preston that he was drunk when he met the cast the last time but noted that it wasn't an excuse for how he behaved.

Preston opens up about how Phil made him feel in Summer House: Martha's Vineyard season 2 episode 5

In Summer House: Martha's Vineyard season 2 episode 5, Bria videocalled Phil so the former cast member and Preston could resolve their issues. While Preston was against Phil joining the cast in the current season, he explained that he couldn't expect people to change if he wasn't willing to hear their side of the story.

In a confessional, Preston explained that in Summer House: Martha's Vineyard season 1, Phil Brooks insulted "everybody in the house." Preston added that he "needed to hear him out."

During the phone call, the former Bravo star explained that he was drunk during their last interaction and said that although it wasn't an excuse, it was an "explanation."

Preston explained to Phil that when he came into the house and took shots at everybody, it was really "amped." Preston further told the former Summer House: Martha's Vineyard star that while for some people it may have been a joke, he couldn't deny how he felt.

In a confessional, Preston said:

"Calling someone soft, calling someone zesty, calling someone sus, all those things."

The Summer House: Martha's Vineyard season 2 cast member added that Phil's language bothered him as Preston is someone who had experienced bullying in the past. He added that Phil's behavior was "triggering." Preston further said that people should be "really mindful" of the words they use while talking to one another.

Phil explained that his intention wasn't to hurt anyone but said that he didn't have an explanation since he was intoxicated. The former cast member revealed that he had been in therapy for the past year and a half.

"And, know that I'm coming to you genuinely about like, yeah. I know I f*cked up pretty badly," Phil said.

Preston appreciated Phil for apologizing and accepted it as well. Phil asked Preston if he could talk to the other male cast members and tell them that Phil "tried to let them know" how he "truly felt." He added that he didn't get to cross paths with Alex, and blamed it on Alex saying Phil wasn't a comedian.

"And that was one thing hat one of y'all said that hurt my feelings. Like I actually am a comedian...that's how I made my money," Phil explained.

Preston asked the former Summer House: Martha's Vineyard star whether he made a lot of money as a comedian and Phil said 'No.' The two laughed it off before hanging up and Phil told Preston that he appreciated him as well.

Summer House: Martha's Vineyard season 2 will air another episode on Bravo next week.
