Episode 7 saw the participants reunite with their initial partners on The Ultimatum: South Africa after spending three weeks with their trial partners. Their bittersweet reunion left many of them torn between the two lives. Thabi and Lindile were one of them.

After Thabi moved back in with Genesis and Lindile with Sizakele, they were still reminiscent of their days together. Lindile sent Thabi a parting gift to commemorate their time together, which motivated Thabi to send one for him.

Their gifts to each other left their partners Sizakele and Genesis disappointed, angry, and sad. It also unfolded drama that became the highlight of the episode.

The drama that unfolded after Thabi and Lindile exchanged gifts on The Ultimatum: South Africa

It all started when Genesis surprised Thabi with gifts, flowers, and chocolates on The Ultimatum: South Africa. Thabi was seemingly excited about it, but Genesis looked tense because Lindile also had sent a gift for Thabi, which was waiting to be opened on their couch.

When Thabi found it and opened it, a note inside it said, "From Bubsy to Bubsy" a term Lindile and her used to refer to each other. The packet contained a teddy bear, which Thabi immediately hugged, leaving Genesis crest-fallen.

It also had a note that read

"I want you to love this teddy bear like you loved and cared for me. Cuddle it and take good care."

In a confessional, Genesis shared that the gift from Lindile had made him very sad and that he felt like crying.

Thabi asked him not to feel bad he said he would be okay. She then revealed that she too had bought a gift for Lindile. In a confessional, Genesis concluded that Thabi wanting to return the favor meant that she had created a bond with Lindile, and knowing that hurt him.

The next day, Thabi walked up to Lindile's villa, to hand him the gift herself. She bought him a green shirt, in a bag that said, "What goes around, comes around". Lindile loved her gift, as he said he needed to sit down before he began to read her little note that came with the gift. It said

"Bubsy to Bubsy. I got you a little something to appreciate you. I had a lovely time with you."

Sizakele found out about the gift when she returned home later. Siza confronted Lindile about her dislike of their exchange of gifts, but Lindile kept mum. In a confessional on The Ultimatum: South Africa, Lindile said that he couldn't apologize for still having feelings for Thabi like he didn't expect Siza to apologize for her closeness with Nkateko.

Later in the episode on The Ultimatum: South Africa, Siza showed up at Thabi's villa with the bag of her gift and returned it to her saying she didn't want her sending gifts to her man.

She explained that irrespective of whatever went down between the two of them in the three weeks they were together, it was her time to be with Lindile now, and she didn't want Thabi to take that away from her.

After she left, Genesis comforted a hurt Thabi telling her that Sizakele probably didn't know that Lindile was the first one to bring a gift for Thabi. He said that she probably thought that Thabi sent him the gift in an attempt to win him back, which might've felt threatening.

The reunion episode of The Ultimatum: South Africa comes out on Netflix, on May 28.
