After a close to decade-long break, Phineas & Ferb season 5 is finally here, and fans simply can't wait to be back with their beloved brothers and their crazy summer universe. It aired on Disney Channel on June 5, 2025, and was available for streaming on Disney+ the next day.
The new season ushers in the long-awaited comeback of one of Disney's longest-running and most popular animated shows. With a recognizable cast, crazy inventions, and just the right touch of surrealism, Phineas & Ferb season 5 is a continuation that takes up where the series left off, with an added dose of nostalgia for die-hards.
Developed by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, Phineas & Ferb season 5 returns with the show's traditional formula: two brothers constructing impossible structures during summer vacation, their sister attempting to bust them, and their pet platypus' double life as a secret agent.
But with new characters, surprise celebrity guest stars, and multi-part episodes, the fifth season is also ever so slightly more ambitious than those that went before.
Phineas & Ferb season 5 comprises 20 episodes, each split into two segments, totaling 40 stories of inventive summer adventures.
Phineas & Ferb season 5 episode details explored
Phineas & Ferb season 5 has 10 half-hour episodes, each with two distinct 11-minute segments. There are a total of 20 individual stories. The season kicked off with a double-episode special, Summer Blockbuster and Cloudy with a Chance of Mom, and further episodes will drop weekly.
The mid-season storyline seems to be setting up for a huge Candace twist, with a mysterious Candace suit and a talkative potato salad. Several subsequent episodes, such as Meap Me in St. Louis, also suggest larger serialized arcs, something the show has touched on sporadically in the past.
Here is the complete release schedule of the episodes releasing on Disney Channel and Disney+:
What happens in Phineas & Ferb season 5?
In typical Phineas & Ferb style, season 5 launches at the beginning of summer break, with the boys hosting a gigantic block party and creating wacky gadgets to mark their newfound freedom.
But things take a turn at the beginning when their mom, Linda, gets blown away by accident and is transformed into a cloud, eliciting a multi-part journey to get her back. From constructing submarines out of sandwich bread to pursuing disco balls throughout the Tri-State region, Phineas & Ferb season 5 descends deep into new and absurd territory while still retaining its physical humor.
Meanwhile, Perry the Platypus (Agent P) keeps up his covert assignments, frequently intersecting with the boys' creations and Dr. Doofenshmirtz's poorly conceived inventions.
Doof is quite back to his ways, though a couple of episodes demonstrate surprising development within his role as father to daughter Vanessa. Screen time is also increased for Carl, assistant to Major Monogram, who comically balances a half-dozen side jobs.
Stacy and Candace's relationship is also given a kick, particularly in "Agent T (for Teen)," when Stacy becomes briefly involved with OWCA (The Organization Without a Cool Acronym).
Some of the highlights of Phineas & Ferb season 5 include the children developing a rocket-powered version of lacrosse that spans continents, Candace impersonating herself in life-sized versions of Candace suits, and Baljeet's efforts to become an actor with a giant immersive film set.
There's even a cruise episode with the Tri-State Aurora and a nod to fan-favorite character Meap. Amidst all of this, the series finds a balance between its episodic storytelling and sufficient emotional beats and callbacks to please longtime fans.
