Tires season 2 finale was released on June 5, 2025, on Netflix. The episode has wrapped up several loose ends of the plot while setting the stage for even more drama in a potential third season.
In this sitcom starring Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben, their respective characters Shane and Will struggle to keep Valley Forge Automotive afloat amid financial setbacks. Will’s business decisions backfire, and Shane surprisingly steps up with a plan to secure fleet accounts. Tires season 2 ends with wrecked vehicles, battered egos, and just enough optimism to allow Valley Forge to stay in business, for the moment.
While Tires season 1 saw Shane causing chaos with little guidance, the second installment pushes his character into uncharted territory. From creating a new business plan to handling his ambiguous romantic life, he is at the forefront of all. For the fans wondering if Shane gets cheated on. No, he doesn't. His insecurity about Kelly and her coworker Ollie leads to their breakup before anything concrete happens.
What happens to Shane's fleet accounts in Tires season 2?
In an unexpected turn of competence, Tires season 2 finds Shane coming up with a scheme that has the potential to save Valley Forge from financial ruin temporarily. Shane shares the idea of providing fleet account discounts, 10% on services if firms send their cars exclusively to Valley Forge after the collapse of the True Thread joint venture.
The plan, at first skeptical, begins to look viable as Shane and Tommy manage to recruit some clients, including Kelly's catering firm.
While the fleet strategy is not something of the long-term, it is a turning point for Shane. For the first time in the series, he does something positive for Valley Forge. His out-of-the-blue burst of ambition is a nice change of pace, and it looks like he might finally be taking on a more mature role, even if he still appears to be the same reckless Shane beneath the surface.
Dave receives a second chance in Tires season 2 and Shane gets heartbreak
Tires season 2 climax nearly finds Dave folding up his bag as Phil, officially back on the scene, thinks of laying him off to save money. Dave, whose popularity at the store plummeted after his affair with receptionist Lisa was revealed, is an obvious target. Phil, who can hardly recall his name, is willing to let him go but Will intervenes.
Will convinces Phil to let Dave stay, arguing that breaking up the already shaky team during a crisis would do more harm than good. It’s a calculated risk, but it works. Dave keeps his job, at least for now, though his relevance at Valley Forge remains in question.
Elsehwere, Shane and Kelly's will-they-won't-they narrative is brought to an end. Shane, fueled by insecurity, becomes fixated on the belief that Kelly spends too much time with her co-worker Ollie. Moreover, the auto shop mechanic, Cal, stokes Shane's fears, as the former snoops into Kelly's work and personal life.
Shane's constant demand for reassurance and suspicions ultimately ruin whatever nebulous relationship they had. Kelly walks, and based on her reaction, it seems she may not be returning for season 3. However, by the end of the finale, Kelly and Ollie do get closer.
What else happens at the end of Tires season 2?
Aside from the office politics and romantic drama, Tires Season 2 also has a number of subplots that will have some significance in the future. Cal's vintage MGB convertible gets wrecked by NASCAR driver Ron White. Leaning on a relationship forged during the fleet account hustle, Shane presents Cal with another red MGB. This moment might induce Cal, who has been thinking of quitting, to remain on at least.
Meanwhile, Pete at True Thread, the corporate sponsor that welshed on Valley Forge, gets fired from the company. This happens after Will informs a local reporter of Pete's bribery attempts. Not only is it poetic justice, but it also gives Will an opportunity to potentially reconcile with Ryan, the True Thread staffer who truly wanted to assist.
Another character, Phil is similarly revamped in Tires season 2. No longer a distant figure of authority, he becomes a steady presence at Valley Forge, managing day-to-day operations and shaping key decisions.
At the end of Tires season 2, the shop still exists, but isn't exactly prospering. Shane's fleet accounts serve as a temporary lifesaver. Will is still keeping everything together with duct tape and a prayer. Cal may be hanging around. Dave's in limbo and Phil is more hands-on than ever. And Shane seems to be finally maturing, whether he likes it or not.
