As fans eagerly await Euphoria Season 3, they can't help but speculate about what will happen to Rue, played by Zendaya. A lot of fans think Rue might die in Euphoria Season 3 because of her ongoing struggle with addiction and continued relapse storylines.

The Season 2 finale hinted at her still fighting to stay clean, and with the show not shying away from tough subjects and the sad passing of Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, it's got people wondering if Rue will make it out alive in the next season.

While her death may seem likely after the events of the past seasons, we're not sure what's going to happen to Rue. It looks like fans are more interested in figuring out the best storyline for Rue rather than just getting rid of her. We'll need to wait until 2025 to see how everything turns out for Rue.

Uncertainty surrounds Rue's fate in Euphoria Season 3

Fans are excited for Euphoria Season 3 on HBO, and they're all wondering if Rue, played by Zendaya, will make it out alive. There's some serious drama brewing around her fate, and the show's creator, Sam Levinson, has his work cut out for him trying to figure out where her story is headed. Rue's been through a lot in the first couple of seasons, dealing with addiction and facing the fallout of her choices.

Season 1 showed us her high school drama and inner struggles, leading up to a tough relapse that had fans on edge about her future. Season 2 got into Rue's head, showing how hard she tried to stay clean and how it messed up her relationships. Leading up to Euphoria Season 3, the finale had everyone freaking out as Rue barely escaped getting caught by the cops, running around to avoid getting busted.

Fans on the r/Euphoria subreddit are talking about what might happen to Rue Bennett on Euphoria Season 3. In Season 2 Episode 4, Rue is shown taking pills and experiencing a hallucination of her funeral, leading fans to take this as a clue to the idea that she overdosed and died. However, the episode concludes with Rue still alive, indicating that the overdose scenario was only a hallucination.

Some think she'll get better, but others are worried things might not end well for her. People are concerned she could get caught up in s*x trafficking or struggle with addiction even more. Some think that if the cops go after drug dealer Laurie, it could mess with Rue's journey. But others see it as a story of strength based on the creator's recovery.

Production delays impact Rue's story in Euphoria Season 3

As per Variety, Sam Levinson, the creator of the show, had some ideas for Euphoria Season 3, where Rue would be a background character and a private detective. Zendaya, as an executive producer on the show, had some ideas for Rue's storyline, like the one where she's a sober twenty-something being a pregnancy surrogate.

HBO thought their ideas didn't quite match the vibe. Rue's story is all up in the air right now, which couldn't have come at a worse time since Season 2 wrapped up with a major cliffhanger about her fate.

In the finale, Rue thanks Lexi for the play, saying it helped her see things in a new light. Rue patches things up with Jules and Elliot, but things are still a bit off between them. In the end, Rue shares that she stayed clean and sober for the rest of the school year, hinting at some progress in her story. Plus, her situation with Jules is still unclear, and there's still a ton of drama brewing with Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), Maddy (Alexa Demie), and Nate (Jacob Elordi) that needs sorting out.

Due to creative disagreements and production delays from the Hollywood strikes in late 2023, Euphoria Season 3 has been pushed back to 2025. The season will now have six episodes instead of the originally planned eight, but HBO is open to adding more episodes if necessary. The network has also given the cast the rest of 2024 off and plans to start filming in 2025 with a plan in place by October 1st.

As we eagerly await the release of Euphoria Season 3, we're just keeping our fingers crossed that the creators can work through any delays and obstacles to give Rue's story the ending it deserves.
