Valorant is scheduled to receive the Episode 7 Act 3 update on October 31, 2023, and expand the roster of Agents with a unique new Duelist called ISO. The developers have also ingrained a long list of changes for the Premier mode to begin its integration with the Challengers 2024 event and promote players to participate in professional tournaments. The new update will create a new nurturing environment for young talents and help them showcase their prowess.

The Premier mode was introduced in Valorant to make the esports scene more accessible to the general playerbase. This eliminates the need for being sponsored by large corporations, as the community can participate in the events from the comfort of their homes. However, Riot’s plans derailed due to the delay in competitive changes, causing Premier to be sidetracked.

This article will highlight everything we know so far about Valorant’s Premier mode in Episode 7 Act 3.

All Premier mode changes and details for Valorant Episode 7 Act 3

The Premier mode in Valorant will drastically change with the arrival of the new Episode 7 Act 3 update. Riot Games is gearing up to introduce the mode to the esports ladder as a proper grassroots program to bring in new talented players from across the globe.

It will start off as a regional event and then seed teams into higher levels, starting with the Challengers 2024 circuit. The teams will have a chance to compete against professional teams and fight for a spot in the Challengers Ascension tournament.

What are the new Divisions in Premier mode?

Here is a list of all the Divisions that will be allotted to all Premier teams after the update goes live.

  • Open (Level 1 to 5)
  • Intermediate (Level 1 to 5)
  • Advanced (Level 1 to 5)
  • Elite (Level 1 to 5)
  • Contender

The list is arranged in ascending order, with Open being the lowest division and Contender being the highest. Players can form teams as they wish with competitive rank, and the Premier system will put them in the most relevant division. The division selection process will be based on the Match Making Rating/ Rank (MMR) of the top 5 players in the team.

How will the Premier matches be hosted?

All Premier mode matches will be hosted as per the selection of zones by the Team Owner. The owner can choose multiple zones, but the game will automatically suggest the best zones for a balanced gameplay experience.

Nevertheless, players can choose to compete in different zones. The matchmaking process will follow the normal guidelines similar to Valorant competitive and try to find the lowest latency server.

What are the restrictions for inviting players to a team?

There are virtually no restrictions in inviting players to create a team. Players of the highest and lowest ranks can form a team together and enroll in the Premier stage.

However, once the team is enrolled, you cannot invite any player who would potentially change the allotted Division of the team. The game will automatically notify the members if a player can be invited to the team or not.

What are the qualifying criteria for the Playoff Tournament?

Valorant will allow all teams to compete and rake in points through the Premier mode matches. There will be no restrictions aside from the current ruleset for all participating teams to qualify for the Playoff tournaments. Teams are simply required to gather a total of 675 points to qualify for the tournament.

If a team manages to perform better and accrue more points, it will be recognized by the system and reward the players with a higher seeding in the tournament. It is important to note that the teams that lose a match in the tournament will be immediately eliminated from the bracket.

The brackets are formed at the time of queuing and can have a maximum of eight teams. It is not possible for players to see in advance the details about their opponents in the tournament. Teams will also not be able to substitute a player in this event as Riot Games has not officially created such a system in the Premier mode.

What are the rewards for playing in the Playoff Tournament?

Here is a list of all the items you can gain by playing in Valorant’s Premier mode:

  • Unique Gun Buddy (for tournament winners)
  • Unique Title (for tournament winner)
  • Player Card (for playing at least one match)

The rewards are expected to increase once the Premier mode changes are in effect and start off with the inaugural stages while being integrated into the Challenger 2024 event.

However, it has not been confirmed by Riot if players will be able to claim more rewards for playing in the new competitive mode. The rewards will be given out to the players a day after the Premier stage ends.

When will a Crest be provided to a Premier team?

The Crests will be available for teams after they complete one of two criteria:

  • The team needs to play at least two weekly matches to earn a crest.
  • The team needs to play at least one tournament match to earn a crest.

The emblem will be visible in the Premier section under the Career tab and will reflect the skill level as well as the performance of the team in past matches. The Crest will also evolve throughout the entire stage as the team plays more matches and rakes in more wins.
