It's more Rumble than ever!

WWE's Road to WrestleMania is set to kick off at the end of this month. As we all know, the road to WrestleMania begins at the Royal Rumble.

Every year, there is excitement and buzz around the Rumble, and it's not because of the championship matches, but the Royal Rumble match itself. In 2018, however, things are very different. Why? Because there's going to be the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match.

As announced, the Women's Royal Rumble match will be contested under the same rules as the Men's Royal Rumble match. 30 participants, both feet must touch the ground. We're guaranteed to see the return of some legends and big names, with The Bella Twins, Michelle McCool and Molly Holly seemingly locked to be part of the Rumble match.

That being said, the rest of the card is not to be overlooked. It's quite a stacked card and promises to deliver from start to finish. Here is the Royal Rumble 2018 card and all you need to know about each match.

#1 2018 Men's Royal Rumble match

Royal Rumble looks to be star-studded this year

The men's 2017 WWE Royal Rumble match was stacked and had the biggest star power since 1992. Yet, the match left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans. Why? There was Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker and several more names, yet something went wrong.

There's only one answer to that: Roman Reigns entry at #30. While we do understand that it was done to set up his match with The Undertaker(and presumably get Orton cheered when he did win the match), it seemingly ruined fans' view on what was actually a great PPV from start to finish.

Also, centring the match around part-timers probably wasn't the best idea as the three part-timers spend a total of just sixteen minutes and thirty seconds in the match combined. This time around, the same problem doesn't seem to be the case.

The only part-timer present is John Cena and he's very unlikely to win the whole thing. If the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is to be believed, then Cena's WrestleMania 34 plans are "much bigger" than just a WWE title match. His rumoured WrestleMania 34 match is against none other than The Undertaker.

Also, Samoa Joe stated that he intends to eliminate John Cena first, so something could be brewing there. The bigger question that many fans have been asking is: Is Roman Reigns going to win the Royal Rumble in the same city he won it last time only to get booed out of the building? For many, that would be insanity.

And whether you like him or not, the reality is that he is most likely going to be part of this match, especially since he's not booked for any match at the Rumble just yet. We all know that Reigns' plans will lead him to a collision course against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 for his fourth straight main event and third straight coronation, but why is he still not among the favourites to win?

That's because Brock Lesnar is not advertised for Elimination Chamber, the last RAW PPV before WrestleMania. This leads us to believe that the Elimination Chamber match will indeed be a #1 contenders match that will see Roman Reigns triumph and go on to main event WrestleMania.

Does this mean a SmackDown Live superstar is set to win the Royal Rumble? It's hard to tell just yet. Here is the list of participants confirmed for the men's Royal Rumble match.

#2 2018 Women's Royal Rumble match

History is set to take place

Perhaps the biggest talking point of this year's Royal Rumble is the introduction of the women's Royal Rumble match. For many, the Rumble match for women seemed to be an inevitability, but not many expected 2018 to be the year where the women's Royal Rumble would first take place.

Now, we're not going to show you the clip of Stephanie McMahon's announcement because that's been done to death by WWE already. However, it's going to be interesting to see WWE put on two Royal Rumble matches for the first time ever. Will it burn out the crowd? Will it cause more excitement?

Which legends are set to return? So far, the rumoured but non-confirmed participants are:

Ronda Rousey

Michelle McCool(According to pwinsider)

Molly Holly(According to pwinsider)

Bella Twins(seemingly confirmed on Total Divas)

Here is a list of confirmed participants for the Women's Royal Rumble(Paige is now sadly set to miss the Royal Rumble after a career-ending injury):

<p>

Ronda Rousey appearing and winning the whole thing is not going to please WWE fans, that's for sure.

#3 Brock Lesnar(c) vs Braun Strowman vs Kane - WWE Universal Championship match

Enter captio
Brock Lesnar has a monstrous challenge ahead of him

Braun Strowman and Kane have been feuding since TLC in 2016. They've faced each other multiple times with no real conclusion to their matches. This led to Kurt Angle making the Universal title match at the Royal Rumble a triple threat match between the three behemoths.

We all know that Kane is simply there to take the fall so WWE can protect Strowman. That's fair since it would probably kill Strowman's momentum if he were to get pinned by Lesnar again.

Brock Lesnar, as we know, is inevitably going to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, so he's obviously retaining this one. However, we can still expect it to be a great match. Hopefully, Strowman has a good showing to help keep his momentum going into WrestleMania 34.

#4 AJ Styles(c) vs Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens - WWE Championship Handicap match

Enter captio
AJ Styles has some tremendous odds to face

AJ Styles is pitted in a handicap match against Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn for the WWE title. Now, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn claimed on the most recent episode of SmackDown Live that when they win, they'll be co-champions.

However, things don't necessarily work that way and we know there's bound to be some tension among the best friends. The back story of this match, however, has more to do with Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon and their clash of egos and their inability to accept each other's decisions.

Daniel Bryan questionably put AJ Styles in this handicap match and something in this match seems to be furthering another storyline, possibly for WrestleMania.

#5 Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan vs The Bar(Sheamus & Cesaro) - RAW Tag Team Championship

Enter captio
Jason Jordan & Seth Rollins have their first title defence at the Rumble

Jason Jordan & Seth Rollins were paired together by Kurt Angle in an unlikely partnership. They won the RAW Tag Team Championships on their first night together, on the Christmas edition of RAW.

Jason Jordan plays the entitled "daddy's boy" who doesn't really seem to get along well with anyone, including his own partner, Seth Rollins.

The way things are going, it seems like The Bar might just become 4-time tag team champions and tensions between Rollins & Jordan could start escalating as the road to WrestleMania begins.

#6 The Usos(c) vs Benjamin & Gable - 2-out-of-3 falls for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships

Enter captio
Will these two rival teams face each other one final time?

The Usos and Benjamin & Gable have had a series of great matches on SmackDown Live, and after some controversy on SmackDown Live where Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin seemingly won the tag titles, but the decision was reversed after the wrong Uso was pinned.

The decision was thus reversed and The Usos would go on to retain the title. To settle the differences and end the controversy once and for all, Daniel Bryan set up a 2-out-of-3 falls match for the Royal Rumble for the SmackDown tag titles.

Expect this match to be on the kickoff/pre-show of the Royal Rumble. Don't let that dishearten you though. In fact, it gives you more reason to watch, because both teams are going to bring their A-game and will definitely have one of, if not the match of the night.

#7 Enzo Amore(c) vs Cedric Alexander - WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Enter captio
Is Cedric Alexander finally going to have his moment?

After legal issues and controversy, Rich Swann was removed as the number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship. Cedric Alexander would then go on to seize the opportunity and take his place.

His first attempt against Enzo Amore for the title on RAW ended in victory, via countout. The Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore weaselled his way from what seemed like certain defeat. However, Cedric Alexander now has another chance to have his long-awaited moment at the Royal Rumble.

As usual, expect the Cruiserweight title match to be on the pre-show.
