It looks like Elias is all set to get a big push. He was hastily turned babyface and now is being portrayed as very valiant and tough. Bobby Lashley, who not long ago beat Roman Reigns clean, has to cheat to beat him. He even bravely confronted the deadly trio of Corbin, McCintyre, and Lashley all by himself.
His story looks similar to John Cena's: a music-based heel gimmick who was super successful as a heel and then turned face and pushed to the next level. If WWE sees the next John Cena in Elias, this would be a great way to make him that.
However, with Brock or Braun being the likely Universal champion at Mania, having Elias as the contender doesn't seem to be all good. However, owing to the unpredictability WWE love to exploit, there is a ray of hope for this to happen.
