In what must go down as a shock result, Samoa Joe would defeat Shinsuke Nakamura to regain his NXT Championship. Many had expected this match to be Joe’s NXT swan-song before his much-anticipated call-up to the main roster.

However, after a typically physical match between NXT’s two biggest stars, Joe would a hit a low blow behind the referee’s back, slam Nakamura into the steel steps and then hit his ‘muscle buster’ finisher to become the first ever two-time NXT Champion.

This result silenced the Toronto crowd and left everyone wondering where both these men will go from here.
