<p>
This 2018, make WWE great again

2017 was a great year for the WWE. A lot of things got cheered and accepted, while some got vehemently booed and rejected.

With WrestleMania 34 just around the corner, let's dive deep into what awaits us in 2018.

#1 The Undertaker's Final Match

T
All good things must come to an end

The Undertaker lost to Roman Reigns in a disappointing affair at WrestleMania 33, which began the rumours of him taking a retirement. But, the Deadman deserves a better send off and that farewell is likely to happen this year at the Super Dome.

The possibility of a final Undertaker match has generated much attention, with the fans and critics expecting the Deadman to clash in a dream match with the 16-time World Champion.

Other opponents who could fit well for a final bout with the Undertaker include the likes of Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins.

But, a potential money match between Big match John and the Phenom could be spellbinding.

#2 Finn Balor turns 'heel' and forms the Balor Club

Coul
Could we see a Balor Club Invasion this year?

As talented and gifted Finn Balor is, there is no denying that the man's potential has been underutilized in 2017.

The Demon was involved in feuds that did no justice to him and his popularity among the fans. A potential match with the Beast Incarnate was in the works for Royal Rumble but, was eventually scrapped, leaving Balor without an ongoing direction.

As much as it would have had disappointed Balor, it also disappointed the WWE Universe, who expected the first-ever Universal Champion to be in a marquee match at this year's WrestleMania.

Well, things may not have completely gone wrong with the Demon as he recently teamed up with his former Bullet Club buddies, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows in a six-man tag team match.

This recent team up has garnered speculation that Finn Balor could be turning 'heel' and, finally forming the much awaited 'Balor Club'. A possible draft to SmackDown Live in the Superstar Shake-up could reshape Balor's lacklustre WWE career and, also ignite a blockbuster program with AJ Styles on the blue brand. Expect the Demon to be WWE Champion by the end of 2018.

On the other hand, Shinsuke Nakamura's main roster debut failed to live up to expectations but, a potential clash with the Phenomenal one could see a revival in Nakamura's career and his future on the blue brand.

WWE teased us all at Money In The Bank with a little confrontation between the two superstars and, the fans were blown away by the response it received. Expect this to be Nakamura's best main roster match. Add WWE Championship and a WrestleMania showdown in the mix and, you have a solid game changer on your hands.

Does The Underdog from The Underground deserve to be WWE Champion? YEP!

Predicting that Sami Zayn would be a WWE Champion, two years ago, would have been a pure illusion. But, fast forward things in 2018 and, the man just pinned the WWE Champion on the first SmackDown of 2018.

Sami's 'heel' turn and his recent partnership with his 'best friend' Kevin Owens has revived Zayn's career and, placed him on the top of the blue brand.

The duo is now set to face AJ Styles in a 2 on 1 Handicap Match for the WWE Championship. However, the rumour mill is still swirling with reports suggesting that Kevin Owens might turn on his best friend once again at the Royal Rumble, which could set up a potential clash at WrestleMania.

Expect Sami Zayn to win this battle which would solidify his position as the main event superstar and could lead the Underdog towards the prestigious WWE Championship.

#5 The Lunatic Fringe turns on his Shield brothers

W
Will The Lunatic finally steal the spotlight from his shield brothers once he returns?

The Shield will go down in history as one of the most dominant factions in WWE history. Ever since they broke up in 2014 and went their separate ways, the fans have been waiting to see the reunion of the most beloved faction of all time.

The Hounds of Justice finally reunited in 2017, in what was expected to be a historic moment but, unfortunately, the reunion did not live up to its hype. The Lunatic Fringe, being one of the hounds, has always been considered as the weak link in the Shield and, has not enjoyed much success as compared to his counterparts.

The original plan for the Lunatic was to face Seth Rollins at the Super Dome this year but, the plans have been apparently shelved after Dean got ruled out for 9 months with a bicep injury.

The man is speculated to return around for Summer Slam which will possibly be a good time for him to turn on his Shield brothers. A 'heel' turn for Dean would help him to elevate his position on Monday Night Raw and, could also assist him in winning the Universal Championship.

#6 Daniel Bryan makes his in-ring return in WWE

Wikl
Will Vince allow Daniel Bryan to wrestle for WWE?

Daniel Bryan is one of the most respected wrestlers of our generation. The man's willingness combined with his undying rage catapulted him to superstardom. But, due to Bryan being such a gifted passionate wrestler, his days as a successful WWE superstar became numbered.

The leader of the Yes Movement suffered multiple concussions and injuries during his career which forced him to an early retirement. Well, a lot of things have changed since then.

The rumour has it that Bryan has been constantly trying to convince the WWE doctors to clear him for an in-ring return. He also recently stated in an interview that he is still pushing for an in-ring return but, if he is not cleared until WrestleMania, he won't be wrestling with WWE at all.

Well, only time will tell what's next for Bryan, who is currently involved in a program with Shane O'Mac. The fans expect this story to culminate at WrestleMania in one form or the other allowing Bryan to make his in-ring return and tear the roof off the place.

Th
'Da Man' deserves a Hall of Fame Induction

The man has had an illustrious career in both WCW & WWE and, deserves a prestigious recognition in the Hall of Fame. Long Live, the Icon.

#8 Roman Reigns retires the Beast Incarnate "Brock Lesnar"

E
Will the Big Dog take out The Beast Incarnate?

Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar is scheduled to happen at WrestleMania 34. We all know that the Big Dog has been the 'chosen' one since he came to WWE.

The fans and critics may have conflicting opinions about 'The Guy' but, he has managed to improve and earn the respect of the locker room.

With multiple accomplishments on his side and, also defeating the Undertaker at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns has cemented his legacy as the company's top guy. But, he has still not been able to tame down the beast.

While, they did clash at WrestleMania 31 which ended with Seth Rollins, successfully cashing in his money in the bank to become the WWE Champion, the Big Dog has never been able to stop the Beast Incarnate on his own.

But, with Brock Lesnar's current WWE future in jeopardy, it seems inevitable that Roman Reigns is likely to decimate the Beast Incarnate at this year's Mania which would add another solid feather on his cap. Well, whether you like him or hate him, he will still be the Guy.

#9 Big Match John breaks Ric Flair's record

To be the man, you gotta beat the man.

John Cena has been the leader of the locker room for more than 15 years. The Face that runs the place has headlined multiple WrestleMania's and still manages to get the crowd on its feet.

The man is rumoured to be in a major role at WrestleMania this year, which has led to the anticipation that Cena might lock horns with the Deadman this year. The other option being considered for Cena is a potential Royal Rumble victory and, a future title shot at the Super Dome.

The man became a 16-time World Champion by defeating AJ Styles last year at The Royal Rumble but immediately dropped it to Bray Wyatt at the Elimination Chamber.

Cena has done it all in the WWE. A future showdown with the Undertaker seems inevitable for this year's WrestleMania but, somewhere down the line in 2018, expect him to break the Nature Boy's record. Cena has been very important for WWE and, another world title win would cement his legacy as the greatest of all time.
