Goldberg was a huge star throughout his time in WCW and was pitched to work a program with Chris Jericho. Y2J himself told DirtSheetNetwork this would have been a disaster because the star didn't want to do it since he saw Jericho as a Cruiserweight and not on his level.

When Goldberg came to WWE, Jericho was told that the former WCW star was buying him to other stars in the locker room and decided that he was going to stop that rumor as soon as it started.
Jericho confronted Goldberg in the locker room and told him that this is a different world and Goldberg accused him of burying him online. Goldberg put his hand on the former WWE Champion's throat and the argument turned physical until the whole fight was broken up by a number of guys in the dressing room.
Jericho later admitted that this was Goldberg's first week in WWE and he felt bad for him because he didn't want to fight him. The two men have since put their issues behind them and now respect one another and their in-ring work.
