WWE announced a couple of weeks back that Paige would be returning on last week's episode of SmackDown to confront Bayley.

The retired Superstar sadly didn't turn up.

As revealed by Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin, Paige couldn't be in attendance due to coronavirus-related travel concerns.

The former Divas Champion tweeted out hours before this week's episode of SmackDown that she would be at the Performance Center to finally make her highly-publicized announcement.

However, WWE chose to air a pre-recorded segment of Paige announcing Bayley's WrestleMania match.

PWInsider reported that Paige was originally supposed to be flown to Florida for an appearance, but a last-minute decision was made to pre-tape her segment.

While no official reason was provided, it's obvious that the difficulties regarding traveling may have had a role to play in WWE's call to make the change.

Paige's announced return fuelled speculation that she could be coming back to announce her in-ring return, however, as we had noted earlier, there are currently no plans to get her back to wrestling.

The former SmackDown GM confirmed that Bayley will defend the SD Women's title against five other women in a six-pack challenge.

It's interesting to note that a popular Superstar was left out of the match, which takes up to our next slide...
