Summerslam is one of WWE's traditionally important big-four pay-per-view events. It has always been seen as a big deal, and the importance of its 2021 edition is further increased by the fact that it is the first big-four event since the rise of Covid-19 to have its entire buildup, alongside the show itself, to take place in the presence of attending fans.

An event of this magnitude is surely a suitable spot for a match between NXT's Champion and Enforcer. The likes of John Cena and Goldberg are already rumored to be appearing at the event, with Cena already teasing a match against Roman Reigns for the event.

An incredible battle between two of NXT's best would surely appease those decrying the usage of part-timers and create a memorable Summerslam moment or two.

Karrion Kross vs Samoa Joe deserves a main event spot

A match between opponents of the stature of Kross and Joe deserves to be at the top of an event's card. WWE Summerslam is a prestigious event, but with Roman Reigns vs John Cena and Bobby Lashley vs Goldberg being rumored for the show, it will be impossible for the NXT men to main event the show.

On the other hand, it will certainly be the final match in any show promoted under the NXT label, be it a regular show or a Takeover. Thus, a NXT-branded event may provide the match with the significance and prestige it merits.
