#1 Blunder: Kevin Owens lost the King of the Ring match
When King of the Ring was announced last week, Kevin Owens was named as one of the participants. While Drew McIntyre was the favorite candidate from RAW, Owens was the preferred choice from SmackDown Live, however, we saw a big twist this week. The former Universal Champion failed to win his first-round match and he is out the King of the Ring tournament.
WWE doesn't want these wrestlers back - Find out now!
Owens was set to fight Elias who is a close friend of Shane McMahon. The Prizefighter was already fined a hefty amount by Shane last week but he requested to reconsider the amount. Most importantly, Owens was told that he could get fired if he touches the referee during the King of the Ring match against Elias. Similar to last week, Owens lost to Elias after a fast count from the guest referee Shane McMahon.
It is certainly disappointing that the former Universal Champion is out of the tournament following a shocking loss in the first round. Despite the defeat, Owens is establishing himself as a top babyface on SmackDown Live. Judging by the scenario, Owens will continue his feud with Shane and the two men will likely have a rematch at Clash of Champions.
