Cody Rhodes may not be appearing on the upcoming Survivor Series Premium Live Event, but he will remain busy on WWE SmackDown as he prepares for his title match at Saturday Night's Main Event. However, it might not be just Kevin Owens he has to worry about.
Since Bad Blood 2024, Cody Rhodes has been targeted by Kevin Owens after the former teamed up with Roman Reigns against The Bloodline. One star that got caught in the crossfire was Randy Orton, Cody's mentor, and Kevin's tag team partner. Two weeks ago, Owens and The Viper got into another verbal exchange that quickly turned physical. This resulted in The Prizefighter injuring his former partner. Although the 20-time champion still has an unknown return time, it might take place at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event. Surprisingly, it might even be against The American Nightmare.
Although Cody was by the four-time World Heavyweight Champion's side after he was wheeled out of the arena following Kevin's attack, Rhodes was the main reason Orton ended up on a stretcher in the first place. Also, the Undisputed WWE Champion always came out late whenever the 10-time WWE Champion needed help, while the latter ensured he was always quickly at Cody's side.

The one-time Intercontinental Champion could grow tired of how Cody Rhodes has treated him and for constantly letting him down. As a result, he could target the champion at the upcoming NBC special and cost him the match. It could also be the one-time United States Champion's way of a peace offering for Kevin Owens.
Why does wrestling analyst think Cody Rhodes should drop the Undisputed WWE Championship to Randy Orton?
It's hard to imagine The American Nightmare dropping the Undisputed WWE Title this early in his run, especially after the war he had with Roman Reigns over it. However, Sam Roberts thought this could lead to a big WrestleMania moment.
On an episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, the wrestling analyst suggested that if Cody drops the Undisputed title to Randy Orton at Royal Rumble and John Cena wins the Rumble, then the two-time RAW Tag Team Champion could defend the gold against The Cenation Leader at WrestleMania 41.
It remains to be seen what will happen next between Cody Rhodes and the one-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion once the latter returns from his injury.
