The Apex Predator, who has won the Royal Rumble match twice in his career, is possibly in his final few years as an in-ring performer. And it seems like WWE want to give him one final shot at a top title.
According to recent reports, Orton is one of three Superstars who has been shortlisted to win the Royal Rumble match, with the other two being Kevin Owens and Cain Velasquez.
While it makes sense for Owens or Velasquez to win the Royal Rumble match as neither have been in the title picture for a long time, Orton doesn't have the momentum, and we have also seen an Orton vs Lesnar match in the past.
If WWE want to put Orton in a world title feud, they could probably enter him into a feud against the next person who holds the Universal Championship on RAW.
