#1 Kurt Angle & Sting

Two of wrestling's biggest icons

Kurt Angle is still probably the biggest acquisition in TNA history. Just under a year before he signed with the company, TNA had also managed to sign 'The Icon' Sting away from his early retirement.

So when Angle signed, TNA immediately set plans in motion for the biggest dream match in the company's history and one of the biggest dream matches ever, Kurt Angle vs. Sting. But before the dream match, came the dream team.

Kurt Angle would defeat Samoa Joe in the history making 'Winner Takes All' match for all of TNA's titles at Hard Justice 2007. With Angle now a tag team champion without a partner, TNA held a fatal four-way match to decide his new partner, which would be won by Sting.

The title reign would not last long however as they would lose the titles to Ron 'R-Truth' Killings and NFL star Adam 'Pacman' Jones at No Surrender, ending their reign at 2 weeks. Sting's tensions with Angle's wife and valet Karen had caused Angle to turn on Sting in the match, costing them the titles.

While the team didn't last long, it was still two of wrestling's biggest icons becoming tag team champions, and a good way to put their huge feud in gear. Angle and Sting would also reunite occasionally for tag team matches during their time in the Main Event Mafia faction.
