Shane McMahon wasn't part of this week's SmackDown Live, which meant that Elias was on his own when it came to defending the 24/7 Championship. After the events that took place last week where Elias was able to kick Kevin Owens out of the King of the Ring Tournament with the help of Shane McMahon, KO was looking for revenge.

Owens attacked Elias as he attempted to promote the fact that he could be King Elias following Clash of Champions, as the attack got underway, it became clear that Elias had worn the wrong coat and couldn't get out of it.

After he took the stunner from Owens, Elias gave away the fact that he was about to be attacked by someone for his Championship since he was lying on the canvas and was trying to undo the title from around his waist in the most inconspicuous way.

Of course, Drake Maverick and R-Truth then made their way to the ring and it was Maverick who came out on top and was able to leave Louisianna with the 24/7 Championship after weeks of it eluding him.
