#2 Rey Mysterio could become US Champion at Money in the Bank

The United States Championship storyline took an interesting turn this week when Samoa Joe faced Rey Mysterio which was a rematch of WrestleMania. Mysterio suffered a humiliating loss at the Showcase of Immortals as the current US Champion squashed him. Without a shadow of a doubt, it was one of the worst defeats of Mysterio's illustrious career in WWE.
Braun Strowman attacked Samoa Joe on the SmackDown Live after WrestleMania and many people speculated that the Monster among Men could be the next Challenger of Joe, but the company might have dropped the idea. Meanwhile, the company probably had bigger plans for Joe and Mysterio at Show of Shows but the latter suffered an ankle injury before WrestleMania which could have made it a squash match.

The scenario is currently different and the two men produced an astounding bout this week on the red brand. With the involvement of Mysterio's son Dominic, the rivalry could get more exciting in the next few weeks.
The three-time WWE Champion could be aiming to win the US Championship at Money in the Bank. Mysterio never managed to grab the US Title, and he could become a Grand Slam Champion at Money in the Bank if he faces and defeats Joe.
