3 interesting matches WWE could be planning for Money in the Bank

One of the most highly anticipated and high profile pay-per-views of the year, WWE Money in the Bank, is scheduled for May 19, 2019.

Even though the event is still around a month away, the buzz has already started all over the internet. Well, a major part of the blame for this goes to the recent Superstar Shake-up.

Yes, the recently concluded Superstar Shake-up has left WWE fans speculating and predicting potential feuds and winners of Money in the Bank already.

WWE is yet to officially confirm any bouts for the event scheduled for May 19, given there is no major storyline or feud going on in WWE at the moment, expect this to change in the coming week. WWE may not only lay down the foundation for a few potential feuds but could also go on to tease a few blockbuster matchups for May 19.

While a few matches - Becky Lynch vs Lacy Evans for the undisputed Raw and SmackDown Women's Championship, The Viking Experience vs Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder for the Raw tag team Championship, looks certain to feature on the match card of MITB, we take a look at 3 other blockbuster matches WWE could be planning for the event.

#3 Kofi Kingston vs Lars Sullivan for the WWE Championship

Well, 'The Monster' Lars Sullivan who is often regarded as the next Brock Lesnar has been drafted to SmackDown Live. Given the fact that WWE has been hyping and building him for the last couple of weeks as an unstoppable force, he could feature on the upcoming episode of SmackDown to attack Kofi to lay down the breadcrumbs for a potential feud.

Also, given the affinity of WWE with the David vs Goliath storyline, plus, Vince McMahon portraying Kofi as an underdog, it seems totally on the cards.

Well, given the brute Sullivan is, overcoming him would be an uphill task for Kofi. Nonetheless, given the heat and momentum Sullivan has behind his back, it would surely turn into an interesting feud leading to a blockbuster matchup at Money in the Bank.

#2 Braun Strowman vs Samoa Joe for the United States Championship (in a NO DQ match?)

Well, it is all but obvious.

While WWE not switching Strowman to SmackDown Live made a lot of heads turn, it made a bit more sense when they drafted Samoa Joe to the Raw roster.

A feud between the two heavyweights is rumored to start as soon as the upcoming week, it is expected to eventually result in a classic matchup at Money in the Bank.

Any matchup featuring a heel Samoa Joe promises to be intense. The heel psychology and the in-ring chemistry that Samoa Joe brings to the table is truly unparalleled. On the other hand, Braun Strowman is not that far away, as although The Monster Among Men has been questionable in the ring at times, expect the duo to compliment each other to bring the best out of the match-up.

Also, WWE could go on to add the no disqualification stipulation in the matchup as the feud progresses, to make matters more intense.

Samoa Joe vs Braun Strowman promises to be quite a battle.

#1 Roman Reigns vs Elias (vs Randy Orton?)

The Big Dog, Roman Reigns was drafted to SmackDown Live in the recent Superstar Shake-up. However, the Big Dog did not only feature in the main event this Tuesday night on SmackDown to announce his arrival but went on to attack Elias and Vince McMahon, teasing a potential feud.

However, recent reports suggest that WWE could spice things up a bit by adding Randy Orton into the feud. Well, personally, I would have loved to see Randy Orton going against Finn Balor while Roman Reigns faces Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank, but it seems WWE has some other plans.

Yes, according to the latest report, Roman Reigns is expected to feud with two SmackDown Live Superstars in the likes of Elias Samson and Randy Orton.

While WWE teased a potential feud against Elias this week on SmackDown, except creative to add Orton to make it a three-way. This could then eventually result in a blockbuster triple threat matchup at Money in the Bank.
